3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - FEB 10, 201312oz bottle thanks to nuplastikk: pours a transparent dark mahogany with a stringy lacing off-white head. Has a sweet dark caramel and malted wheat nose with some banana and clove notes. Starts with good fullness and malty sweetness with a touch of raisins and banana esters accompanied by doughy yeast before a drier slightly warming finish. True to style and enjoyable. Not quite at the level of Aventinus, but not that far off.

Courtesy of Skyview. Murky brown color with a small head. Massive banana aroma. Light chocolate and banana flavor. A bit of stale malt flavor, but not enough to kill it.

I was glad to see this at the liquor store because there are not a lot of commercially available Weizen-Bocks available and finding one from Wisconsin was a treat.
The beer poured clear with a small brownish head. It had a bit of banana in the aroma and flavor with a hint of cloves. I usually like Weizen-Bocks to have a bit more of that characteristic, but this one was decent. The beer had a good level of sweetness and tasted of dark fruits with a hint of chocolate. What I really like about this beer is how it made me feel warm inside without being hot. A great treat on a Wisconsin winter day!
Price was good @ $8.99/4

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Bennan’s Market in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy dark amber brown colored brew with a heavy beige head that slowly dissipates to a cream top and excellent lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, some banana esters, light chocolate and a touch of prunes. Taste is medium bodied, some extra carbonation with flavors of citrus zest, banana esters, light chocolate and some light figs. Finish has a sharp bitterness at first and then a mild banana yeast and chocolate aftertaste. A little extra hops compared to most other Weizenbocks I’ve tried.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered deep cherry brown/red...opaque. Attractive, lacy beige head. There are certainly a lot of dark fruit tones going on in this one, from pungent to sweet. Almost teetering on Belgian Dubbel some times. Rich, but not overbearing, there is a little heat in the finish. Raisin, prune, date, fig. Very nice, but not really that German of an overfeel to it.
