This classic India Pale Ale is wonderfully hopped for a strong start, a smooth finish, and a fine amber color.

A little on the light side for an IPA, but tasty and refreshing nonetheless. It pours a pale orange body and a small head that still manages to do some fine lacework. The aroma is a light caramel malt topped with a solid pine and grapefruit hopping. The flavor, reflecting the nose, is very well balanced, the hop bitterness winning out in the lingering finish. A welcome addition to the Chicago area.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2006 Thanks for the bottle, iowaherkeye. Poured with a medium gold body and a frothy off white head. The aroma is bursting with grapefruit and some light caramel. There is a lot of cirus in the nose. The taste has some bitter bread crust with grapefruit citrus behind it. A decent and fresh tasting IPA.

Looks and smells delightful. Hoppy goodness with a bit or a sour aftertaste. Not bad, but not the best.

Full piney hop aroma, once you get out of the pine forest, there is some carmel toffee malt there, overall a very elequent hophead aroma, , a somewhat lighterorange amber color a hop prominent piney grapefruit taste slight malt backbone, smooth bitterness in aftertaste. A style conforming well made IPA,that I would have to judge highly in competition, somewhat of a session brew because of its light body, another well made midwest hop brew

12 oz bottle acquired via trade with Wallybrau. Congrats on your 1st trade John! This poured a nice light orange color with a thin white head. Subtle hop aroma with some citrus notes. Good medium bodied flavor with a some citrus and pine. Some caramel malt presence with a nice bitter aftertaste. Nice overall beer!

just had it on draft at Bodega Brew Pub, downtown La Crosse, WI. Piney, citrusy aroma with a hint of malt. Nice lace, light head. Same with flavor but malt comes on much stronger. Some resiny finisish. Definite American IPA. Hazy burnished brass color. Mouth filling body. Fun sensation of hop burps thru the nose.

Bottled January 2004. Poured a clear lighter amber with a medium cap of white head. Nose picked up lots of grapefruit and caramel with herbal notes and spices lagging behind. Bitterness was high throughout on the flavor, but the flavors behind it were a bit murky... grapefruit and pine were there, but there was something else. Shaven metal and a solid dose of sticky caramel malts were in there, too. Medium-bodied. Finish was long and piney. Just OK.

Bottled, <!-- i -->Jan04<!-- /i --> is all I can make out--hopefully it’s not the best by date. Pours a hazy copper with a small eggshell head. Aroma of pine and grapefruit, some caramel malts, biscuity malts, and an off-metallicky smell. Flavors follow the aroma except that the hops come through more as grapefruit, and the metal and biscuits come through towards the end. Moderate bitterness noted. Medium bodied, low sharp carbonation. Pretty decent IPA, though if they could lose the metal flavors would be more enjoyable.

Amber color. The smell of hops and flowers are there but not really in the taste. Grapfruit and a little earthy with some dirt taste. Also a little water downed for my taste buds.

Tap. Nice translucent amber color, magnifying, and a splendidly thick and creamy off-white head. Hello hops. Sweet grapefruit and papaya accents join honeyed wood and lemon grass for the nose. Bitterness is evasive at first and then it curtails around the corners to come in on the back end. Fresh hop cones, staunchy pine traits and a behind the scenes caramel malt backdrop. Light palate presence is bittered while the papaya enzymes touch some taste bud pressure points. An overall enjoyable IPA.
