COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classic India Pale Ale is wonderfully hopped for a strong start, a smooth finish, and a fine amber color.

Pours hazy light amber with a finger creamy, chunky beige head that has great retention and leaves very nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, toast, cereal, floral hops, honey, citrus, toffee, overripe tree fruit, and a hint of planty hops. Flavor is caramel, toffee, toast, planty, citrus, piney and earthy hops, cereal grain, berry and tree fruit. Palate is medium bodied, creamy on entry, moderately carbonated, creamy, syrupy and lightly dry, chalky to the finish. Pretty good, the hop notes are a little more to the earthy, planty side than I typically like, but it has a more substantial feel and flavor profile than typically found in IPA’s at this ABV% level. Could be good or bad on that note, but right now I’d call it good. Looks very nice too.

Aroma is subtle floral with malt and hops. Pours a cloudy deep gold with a frothy lacing head. Taste is strong hops. Long strong bright and bitter hoppy finish with a lot of linger. Great beer, but I don’t think I could session it :-)

12oz bottle. Rating #179. Hazy golden orange pour with a small white head. Big pine and grapefruit aroma, slightly oxidized. Mild flavor, fruity and a little old. Ok stuff. (2172)

Pours a beautiful gold-orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruit & tangerine. Taste is grapefruit, but with a lot of pine bitterness that lingers in the finish.

Hops and a lot of yeast in the aroma. The flavor is hoppy up front, followed by a metallic edge. Not really bad but could be better without the metallic edge.

On tap at Old Fashioned in Madison, pours a clear amber/orange with a thin white head, the aroma is of old hops and oranges, the flavor has notes of dirty water and what trash water would taste like, (not that I’ve tried that before) thin mouthfeel, just a huge miss for me.

Bottle. Semi-murky orange pour with a small but foamy white head. Nice aroma of citrus hop. Medium palate. Taste is strange - there’s some citrus hop, but almost no malt or bread backing, so it tastes very bright and light. It has an initial hop bitter bite, but even that fades, and there’s a tinge of metal taste in there as well. Kind of disappointing taste given the nice aroma.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

Pours amber with a good lasting head. lots of yeast floaters. Nose is some some caramel malts but a nice amount of grapefruit and flawery hops. Good hop flavor and aroma. Dry. a little heavy on carbonation but it’s an ok IPA.

Bottle. Well, not bad for Sand Creek, no offense. It lacks in the hop flavor and aroma. Very malty and it has a slight metallic aftertaste. Not a good ipa, but drinkable.
