This classic India Pale Ale is wonderfully hopped for a strong start, a smooth finish, and a fine amber color.

Very hazy amber. Woody, lightly citrusy hop nose with hints of caramel. Fairly fizzy, but with woody notes. There’s a little grainy, earthy maltiness and a hint of mushrooms. Somewhat muddled overall.

(Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a medium frothy off-white head. Aroma is dominated by grapefruit. Flavor of grapefruit and pine hops with a bitter finish; fresh, thirst-quenching, tasty IPA.

muddy orange, big frothy off white head that settles into dense cream, lots of drippy lace, light floral hop aroma, big bitter hop flavor with an almost astrengent bitterness, only a hint of sweetness falls short of offering any balance, the bitterness only gets more astrengent as it warms, a real tongue scraper

Bottle poured a hazy amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of bread, earthiness, grapefruit and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, earthiness, grapefruit and light pine with a smooth dry bitter lingering grapefruit finish.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2006 12oz bottle. Bottle labeled Jan 11. Poured a medium and clear amber color with a small sized white head. Aromas of citrus and pine. Tastes grapefruit, pine, and a touch of carame. Tastes, like the body, a little on the thin side. Very lightly bitter.

Enormous white head and lace(I pour like a spaz) on golden body. Good citrus floral aroma. Easy drinking though above average bitterness finishing in a bit of astringency and malt, overall though a citrus treat. A serviceable IPA if not more, thanks Taliskar for the hitchhiker.

12oz bottle. Hazy golden honey color. Faint orange and lemon citrus nose, with a small note of pillowy yeast. Slick, moderately thick, turning grassy and bitter and a little pungent (not in a good way) on it’s way to a prickly, bitter and dry finish, complete with moderately heavy yeast tasted in a long-lasting, dry aftertaste. But at least the hops are decent enough - somewhat juicy, mostly dry and a bit rough and coarse. A decent IPA, but nothing special.

Huge, fine yellowish head, fed by fine pearling hazy ochre-orange beer. Shards of lace, persistent. Very nice-smelling grapefruit-y, resiny hops, also some ureum, whiff of raw milk. Bitter, dry, grapefruit/grapefruitpeel hoppiness. Very citrussy, maybe lacking a bit of malts. Wry, near dry-out effect, finish being a bit watery, emptier. Nice IPA, if certainly not the top. Thx, DaveDave!

Bottle from buckybeer. Hazy orangy pour with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of big hops, citrus, including grapefruit and oranges. Tastes very hoppy, piney, and citrusy, with the orange and grapefruit making a big palate hit, and a solid malt backbone. Another great beer from Ed Gein’s home state.

Pours a slightly hazy golden bronze with a large froth of pillowy, rocky white head. Has a sweet pale malty and somewhat mild, but fresh grapefruity Cascade hoppy nose. Body foams upon touching the tongue with lightly sweet flavor and some toasty pale malt before revealing more bittersweet hoppiness toward the finish. Overcarbonated and not quite as intense as some other IPAs, but fairly well-balanced and drinkable.
