FunkyBrewster (143), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2008 Pours a cloudy orangish-red and looks a lot like apple-cider with a small white head. Very sweet and hoppy aroma with some fruity undertones. Flavors starts out very sweet and caramel followed by a quick hit of hops and some bitterness through the finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A little sweet for an IPA but a nice middle of the road choice
JorisPPattyn (4499), Antwerpen, Belgium Sep 30, 2008 Huge, fine yellowish head, fed by fine pearling hazy ochre-orange beer. Shards of lace, persistent. Very nice-smelling grapefruit-y, resiny hops, also some ureum, whiff of raw milk. Bitter, dry, grapefruit/grapefruitpeel hoppiness. Very citrussy, maybe lacking a bit of malts. Wry, near dry-out effect, finish being a bit watery, emptier. Nice IPA, if certainly not the top. Thx, DaveDave! kumite_56 (459), Cordova, Tennessee, USA Sep 20, 2008 I really liked this beer. Of but I have been off the elixer of the gods for several months now and by this time even a budweiser might taste good. The beer poor a nice orange color with a great looking off white head. The beer itself is hazy but nice. ARoma is of citrus hops with notes of caramel. Taste is well balanced, intensely hoppy but with a nice malt backbone. The plate suprised me on the upper end . All in all a nice beer especialliy for one lower in alcohol doubleo (825), San Diego, California, USA Sep 14, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with a thin white head, decent retention, some lace. Smells nutty and light citrusy hoppy. Tastes a little nutty with a nice dash of citrus, earthy hops with just a bit of dull malt flavor in the background. Medium body, good carbonation. hogan873 (195), Joliet, Illinois, USA Sep 8, 2008 Orange amber body with a thick off-white head. Some decent lacing results. Loads of citrus in the aroma with grapefruit coeming to mind right away. Definitely some floral hops, also. Mouthfeel is medium, nothing spectacular. Flavor is quite representative of an IPA. Herbal hops and bitter citrus. Just a touch of caramel maltiness. Bitter dish soap aftertaste. Not a bad IPA. eaglefan538 (2077), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Aug 30, 2008 On draft at the Clark Street Ale House. Pour was nice, full amber color, nice initial head with good retention and lacing. The aroma was herbal/earthy hoppy with some citrus in there too. The flavor followed suit, the herbal/earthy hops the feature of it all, floral hops also appearing in the flavor. Gentle hints of caramel, the way I like my IPAs, generally speaking, not overloaded with caramel. The mouthfeel was moderate, a nice drinker, my favorite of the evening.
