Marsiblursi (2658) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 9, 2012
(Draught) Pours hazy brown to black with some brown bubbles on the top. The aroma holds roasted and burned malt with notes of coffee, tar, asphalt and raisins alongside a touch of alcohol. Undertones of brown sugar, ginger, blackberries and subtle spices. Rather fruity a light acidic on the nose. Vinous and maybe a bit woodsy. The flavour is light to medium sweet, light to medium sweet and light acidic. Nice balance between the acid note and the sweetness. Blackberries, raisins, brown sugar, asphalt, coffee, burned malt, dried ginger and a sting of dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is light sticky and a bit round with a light carbonation. Burned and fruity finish. Medium bodied.

Pitch black with a brown head. Dark fruity aroma with coffee and dark but sweet chocolate. Slightly messy, but good. Extremely heavy stuff, you need some time to finish a glass of this. Light sweetness and bitterness.

Draught. Hazy brown with a porous light brown ring around the glass. Like swampy water, not very attractive. Aroma: sweet, port, soy sauce, acidic, berries, chocolate. Taste: acidic, milk, soy sauce, wine gums, berries. Large body with a fizzy mouthfeel.

rickgordon (3764) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 26, 2009
Sampled a couple of times at various locations. Black colour with steady, creamy head. Big-ish aroma, yet very nuanced and complex (though still bit young). Vineous smell along with bit of chocolate and dark fruits. Flavour is really complex with a thick-ish mouthfeel - madeira, juniper, cellar, tad sourish from ´darker malts´, rubber balloon from hops. Medium bitter after with a touch of tar. Great beer!

2009-12-01, draught at Nya Tröls, Malmö, 10-5-8-4-18=45
Black color. Wonderful and original aroma, distinguishing this beer from all other Imperial Stouts: black bean sauce, liquorice, light smoke. The flavor mixes well roasted malts and chocolate; there is also some liquorice, and it has a salty feeling.

2009-11-29, draught at Nya Tröls, Malmö, 8-4-9-4-17=42
Black color; creamy head, big, with a thin persistent layer. Mild but very nice aroma: chocolate, roasted hazelnuts, light vanilla, hop, chinese kitchen spices (black bean sauce...). Medium body strength; dark caramel and chocolate flavor, rich; vibrating; it has a strange but interesting spice profile; also a very light sourness from the roasted malt. Correct bitterness; the final is drier than most Imperial Stouts, with a bit more black malt showing up. Excellent.

Ljunkan (521) - Drammen, NORWAY - NOV 22, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2009 On tap at Örebro Öl & Whisky Festival. Pitch black color. Very nice vinous aroma of dried fruits, raisins, chocolate, and almonds. Flavour is nicely fruity (for an imperial stout) and vinous with lots of raisins, chocolate and almonds in harmony. Complex and enjoyable. Fullbodied. Really good and underated. Really thick and impressive body. Would love to try it again!

Pitch black, small brown head. Coffeish, sticky glueish aroma. Very sweet, madeira-like ... glue, alcohol, molasses. Need ageing, now too sweet and raw.
