Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA Aug 11, 2007 tap at the ballpark. i’ve had a few of these the last couple days while watching the cubs play. i keep going back for this beer. pour is copper with a white head. strong smokey wood aroma, don’t know if it is alder but i like it. slight salty hint to it too. great flavor with upfront smoke flavor. made me think of bacon and maple syrup. great balancing sweetness. definitely one to look for when at the game. i hope it is still on tap for the next 2 games. jcwattsrugger (3793), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 10, 2006 GABF-on tap-pours an offwhite head with dark red color. Aroma is smoky, sweet. Taste is smoky. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jul 19, 2006 Smooth, aroma of dark fruits, along with just the right amount of smoked malt, never gets out of hand, but manages to fade nicely into the background. Dense, but extremely clean tasting. ratman197 (2242), Arvada, Colorado, USA Apr 2, 2006 On tap @ Falling Rock poured a clear dark garnet with a lasting off white head. Aromas of dark fruit and light smoke. Palate was medium bodied. Flavors of smoke, dark fruit and maple with a smooth lingering smokey finish.
