Two Minutes to Greatness

6/20/2007: Derby Ale has a transparent, amber-orange color and a dark beige head that leaves some lacing. The aroma contains caramel malt, soft citrus hops, and some pineapple. It loosely reminds me of a weak barleywine. The flavor has light caramel malt, toast, and some citrus (orange mostly). This beer has a medium body and is very smooth on the palate. Derby Ale is a very nicely done Maibock. It is quite flavorful and super easy to drink. I really enjoyed it.

1 qt. 2 fl. oz. (1 liter) flip-top bottle shared by supa at the Junedale Beer Klub June "Ales of Summer" beer tasting. Thank you very much for sharing this special bottle of beer with us. I really appreciate it!
