4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
GABF 2007. Looks amazing in the glass, big fluffy white head, clear beer with slow ascending bubbles. Crisp at first in the mouth, clean, with a wonderful dry Saaz finish. Smell is grassy and clean, very appetizing. Wonderful pilsener. Maybe they pulled out all the stops on the GABF batch, because I didn’t get any adjuncts at all in this. In my mind, this is what a pilsener is supposed to be.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
GABF 09 at the Pro-Am Table and at the booth. Pours a clear bright golden with a medium lasting bright white head with cascading lace. Aroma is fresh doughy pils, with spicy floral hops, spicy saaz and a bit grassy but nice. Flavor is toasty and doughy pils malts, bready as hell, crisp and clean with nice fresh saaz spiciness- crisp and easy drinking- awesome as expected from Sandlot.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Grainy, lightly spicy and grassy hop forward aroma. Clear golden body with a low white head that diminishes to ring. Grainy, strongly spicy flavour is overbalanced somewhat towards the hops with a moderately bitter character. Light body with strong, crisp carbonation. Sampled on tap at the Sandlot at Coors Field.

Smallish white head lasts above the clear light golden beer. Nicely herbal nose, hinting now at lime and lemon, then at flowers, while the clean fermentation has cut through the malt sweetness all it could eat. Were left with a lean, fully carbonated crisp and grainy pilsner of adequate bitterness and generous citric freshness.
