Apple cinnamon in a brew, the effect works quite nicely and the balance is fine, not too sweet nor too sour. Funky cinnamon powder finish on the palate. Certainly a girlís favorite, nice dessert drink too.

I finally tried this fall ale on tap at Marciero last October and was a bit disappointed. It was a nice lightly spiced ale but had virtually no apple flavor though the cinnamon came through. Once it warmed up to room temperature there may have been a hint of fruitiness. It seemed popular with ladies as it is light, refreshing & drinkable just not as much apple as I expected from the name.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2013 Tap at Watering Hole. Dark amber colour, small golden head. Not much smell, bit of apple but canít get the cinnamon, quite sweet. Taste is alright, apples again, sweet, very slight spice in the background. Maybe slight mulled wine taste. Pumpkin type body. Nice enough, by maybe past itís best. Rerate 25/10/13 Taste is very brown bread, and tea. Not so much apple. Little cinnamon burn. Alright. Aroma is very grainy. No change in the score.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
pours red tea brown, quickly dissipating head, medium CO2 with bits of micro, ringed retention, minimal slippery retention, very few slow-moving CO2 streams. Some woody unfiltered apple juice and honey on the nose. Creamy up front, minor apple juice, traces of cinnamon, apricot, 4/10 sweetness, slight 5/10 semi-sharp bitter finish. Medium complexity, low-medium depth, okay carry, medium length, watery in the middle. Main complain is that neither the apple nor the cinnamon are prominent enough to discern. Lackluster compared to their full-bodied stout counterparts.

Draft at Craftheads (Tokyo), a dark ruby brown. Baked apple on the nose. Sugary apple in the mouth, with touches of cinnamon. Quite smooth overall.

Bottle. Bright, deep amber-red color with a thick, one-finger head. Sweet, spicy aroma of apple cider and cinnamon. Some caramel and amber malt in the background. Citrus in there too, as well as some nutmeg. Really smells like apple pie or mulled cider. Relatively restrained, though. Sweet, spicy flavor, big cinnamon and caramel with chocolate. Apple is quite in the background. There is a bit of a sour tinge, plus a decent amount of bitterness in the finish. Actually, the finish is very bitter for such a sweet dessert beer. Makes it easy to drink, since it would be cloying without it. Rather rich, full body too. A remarkable well done beer. I really like it, even though generally donít go for this kind of thing.

Copper with thin off white head. Gentle apples and grasses on the nose. Taste was light citrus and hoppy apple, faint, but the cinnamon was tied in as well. Aftertaste true to the name. I was surprised at this beer. I was ready for a sourish run of the mill attempt, but it really does taste the part.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Copper color. Gentle apple aroma. Mouth is light, spicy apple pie with just a touch of citrusy hops, but very balanced for what it needs to do. Lingering apples and cinnamon in the finish. This really surprised me, as the name alone wouldnít really make me to want to drink this beer, but it is very well executed and I could see being a hit with some people. As good as an Apple Cinnamon beer can get

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2009 Pours a copper amber color with a small head. Strong cinnamon aroma with sweet malts, and light apples. Very much a kitchen after baking an apple pie. Smooth and medium bodied. Intense cinnamon flavor right from the start. Following comes light apples, dough, and sweet malts. Surprisingly tasty, though one is enough.

I love Cinammon, so perhaps this gets a few extra points...please take that in to consideration. This is a fruit beer, heavy on the cinammon, on the nose and in the taste profile. Seems to be a generic ale base, with a strong emphasis on cinammon, with a minimal tart apple taste. Suits the season well...would go well at christmas
