Tons of citrus and pine hoppy flavors with an overly dry bitter finish. Promising name but quite a one-dimensional brew in the end. Large unnecessary hop volumes seem to be a recent trend, unfortunately rarely well balanced.

Draft to plastic cup at Hop Revolution 2 Tokyo Grapefruit, spruce, pine. Yellow, thin white head Very strong grapefruit bitterness and nothing else. A miss for me, great aroma, but not a complex taste.

Draft - Crisp tart grapefruit. Clear gold with a thin white head. Big bitterness throughout, earthy and grapefruit pith. Bitterness is overwhelming and unbalanced.

Tap @ Hoprevolution Vol. 2. Aroma is floral and grassy, fresh with some citrus. Possible to detect some resiny notes also, feels like a dry but hoppy IPA. Taste is sharply bitter, somewhat one-sided because of that, there is no malt roundness to balance out the bite of hops. Aftertaste is raisiny, bitter, grapefruit peels. This beer could be more balanced, right now it’s a "one trick pony".

Draught at Watering Hole. Clear amber - white head.Nice hoppy. Grape fruits. Citrus. Knækbrød. Bisquit notes. Resin. Rather hoppy. Sweet malty. A bit too sweet to be a Super IPA. Nice.

KyotoLefty (6724) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 31, 2013
Draught at Watering Hole. Amber, clear, fine head. Malty, earthy nose, caramel, citrus, grass. Very earthy and malty flavors, but super dry and bitter. Grassy and astringent finish with light sweetness. Astringency is a bit hard to handle. Unpleasant, really. Just too bitter and unbalanced.

Tap at Super Oktoberfest. Huge citrus and pine wafts from the glass. Darker than most. Towering rich, caramel toffee body with a hefty dose of citrus and pine (100 IBUs apparently) slapping the taste buds around. Well balanced and superb drinking - just the right amount of carbonation. Top stuff.
