The aroma is very light but it does have some light caramel malty flavour to it. The body is black with a latte coloured head. Taste is a little bit stingy at first, after which you get the stouty roasted malts with a little bit of vanilla. An interesting mixture of sweetness and bitterness. The palate is also very typical to stouts; very little carbonation, light and a little bit oily feel to it. Overall I have to say I wasnít really impressed by this beer.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 On tap at Yellow Ape Craft. A light feeling dark beer that has 6.5% ABV. It is a mild stout with chocolate and vanilla overtones. It isnít cloying & has a bit of a bitter kick. Quite palatable, I think it would be great with ice cream but recommend drinking it in small amounts unless you like sweet beers! Feb. 3rd Bottle from Yodobashi Camera. I think it has a nice roasted taste, very crisp but the vanilla is a bit too strong. Like it was added using extract. I preferred it on tap. Strangely, after warming up the vanilla melted back into the background... I guess it just goes to show the importance of drinking a beer at the right temperature!

Draught at Yellow Ape Craft. Fresh sweet chocolate nose. Pitch black, thin solid tan head. Boiled coffee in initial (but not boiled to the point of unpleasant harshness); mid palate sweetens nicely; smooth chocolate and coffee finish. Medium body. Labelled as a "fruit" beer on the pub menu. Vanilla is pleasant and minimal. Very drinkable stuff.

Bottle bought from Hasegawa. Dark brown colour with small golden head. Aroma is vanilla, cream, roasty malt, bit of chocolate, sweetness. Everything you would expect really. Taste is nice, lots of vanilla and cream again, touch of cherry, some dryness at the end. Quite slight in the mouth for a stout, but I wonít hold it against it. Maybe makes it more drinkable. Sweet vanilla and chocolate finish. Not overly sweet, and pretty damn good.

pours coffee brown, sticky lacing, small head, thin retention, small and micro CO2. Lots of chocolate on the nose, some roasted coffee. 6/10 sweet aromatic chocolate mixed with roasted coffee and vanilla undertones. Great body up front but ends with a partially watery tingly carbonated finish. Medium-high depth, medium complexity, fair carry, long length. Overall quite polished but the finish is somewhat off-balanced.

Bottle brought back from Japan by my awesome cousin. Pours a dark dark black/ brown, with a tan head that recedes to a ultra thin layer. Aroma is sweet and chocolate, subtle cappuccino and vanilla. Taste is not typical stout, very thin mouthfeel. Itís ultra sweet, essence of black cherry and even some grape. Chocolate and little chalkiness. Very good but damn sweet.

Solid black with a thick head. Slight stout malt smell, with a sweet light vanilla. Rich and smooth palate, stonger vanilla feel. Sweet as it goes down. Leaves my mouth feeling saturated with a roasted almonds with sugar feel. No heavy taste or bad sideeffects. Usually the biggest hit in in the swallow but this one is light on the finish. Overall very drinkable and very tasty.

12 ounce bottle brought back from Japan by the misses, thanks. Pours a pure black color with a thick beige head, a bit of a gusher. The nose is slightly sour, roasted malts, vanilla, coffee. The taste is nice; vanilla, heavily roasted slightly sour malts, caramel and earthy flavors. Iím not sure if the sourness is due to the trip over or intentional. Anyway, pretty nice.

Black color; small head. Cappuccino aroma with a hint of vanilla. Chocolate flavor with light roasted malt; the body is medium strong, leaning on the weak side; there are just traces of vanilla (luckily). Not complex but fairly balanced.

Bottled. Near black, creamy beige head. Roasty ashy vanilla aroma. Sweet with lots of vanilla. After vanilla comes vanilla and then ... more vanilla. Though pleasant at first it becomes overpowering and completely one dimensional.
