4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Chocolate and raw vanilla bean right up front with a bit of molasses. Beautiful balck body wit ha light tan oily frothy head like root beer is supposed to have in a cartoon. Restrained sweetness is perfect for the dark chocolates and vanilla bean to come though. The Vanilla is very non-candy like which is a surprising and outstanding quality. Finishes with a nice fleeting herbal bitterness and more chocolate and vanilla extract.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared during GBBF 2013 Day 4 - London. Big thanks to KyotoLefty. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. The nose is all milk chocolate and vanilla. Light to medium sweet flavor with sugary fruits and vanilla pods. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet in the end with more sugary milk chocolate and vanilla. Simplistic but enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Huge toffee nose. Vanilla ice cream flavor, roasted cocoa, bittersweet finish. Lovely creamy sweet stout, almost more of a dessert than a beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle split at GBBF ’13, thanks to Kyoto Lefty the Dutch sounding dude, 16/08/13.
Light black with a moderate tan head which dissipates edgeward.
Nose is vanilla, light roast, chocolate, sugars.
Taste comprises dark toffee, cocoa, sugars, vanilla essence.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish.
Ok drinkable stuff but a little overly sweet and sickly, even for a sweet stout! A pint of this would become a chore I imagine!

Bottle at GBBF 2013 bottle share. It pours darkest brown with a thick light tan head. The nose is mellow roast, earth, light sweetness, vanilla, faint smoke and coffee grinds. The taste is mellow roast, sweet vanilla, treacle, sweet coffee, coconut and mild bitterness with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well balanced and rather drinkable. Decent.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is very light but it does have some light caramel malty flavour to it. The body is black with a latte coloured head. Taste is a little bit stingy at first, after which you get the stouty roasted malts with a little bit of vanilla. An interesting mixture of sweetness and bitterness. The palate is also very typical to stouts; very little carbonation, light and a little bit oily feel to it.
Overall I have to say I wasn’t really impressed by this beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2013 On tap at Yellow Ape Craft. A light feeling dark beer that has 6.5% ABV. It is a mild stout with chocolate and vanilla overtones. It isn’t cloying & has a bit of a bitter kick. Quite palatable, I think it would be great with ice cream but recommend drinking it in small amounts unless you like sweet beers!
Feb. 3rd Bottle from Yodobashi Camera. I think it has a nice roasted taste, very crisp but the vanilla is a bit too strong. Like it was added using extract. I preferred it on tap. Strangely, after warming up the vanilla melted back into the background... I guess it just goes to show the importance of drinking a beer at the right temperature!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Yellow Ape Craft. Fresh sweet chocolate nose. Pitch black, thin solid tan head. Boiled coffee in initial (but not boiled to the point of unpleasant harshness); mid palate sweetens nicely; smooth chocolate and coffee finish. Medium body. Labelled as a "fruit" beer on the pub menu. Vanilla is pleasant and minimal. Very drinkable stuff.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle bought from Hasegawa. Dark brown colour with small golden head. Aroma is vanilla, cream, roasty malt, bit of chocolate, sweetness. Everything you would expect really. Taste is nice, lots of vanilla and cream again, touch of cherry, some dryness at the end. Quite slight in the mouth for a stout, but I won’t hold it against it. Maybe makes it more drinkable. Sweet vanilla and chocolate finish. Not overly sweet, and pretty damn good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours coffee brown, sticky lacing, small head, thin retention, small and micro CO2. Lots of chocolate on the nose, some roasted coffee. 6/10 sweet aromatic chocolate mixed with roasted coffee and vanilla undertones. Great body up front but ends with a partially watery tingly carbonated finish. Medium-high depth, medium complexity, fair carry, long length. Overall quite polished but the finish is somewhat off-balanced.
