2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A light colored IPA. It’s aroma is dominated by the hops. Bodied, pronounced flavor that is lost early in their high hopping recipe.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
6% bottle from Rakuten, served in a fluted glass. Classic IPA orange-gold pour with a thick head of foam. Fruity, minty aroma with a medium body. It has a bitter flavor with some citrus notes but the malts come off kind of harsh & grainy. The aroma is much nicer than the taste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hoppy citrus nose. Bitter grapefruit flavor, flowers, watery finish. Very bitter local IPA, a bit too straight-forward.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange pour with a soapy white head. Nose is decently citrusy with some grapefruit and orange. Very bread forward, biscuit, and grainy. Some floral and grassy notes, too. Light bitterness of citrus peel and grass. Floral hops, grapefruit, and biscuit, bread, and grain sweetness.

Bottled (thanks Kim!). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, catpissy and some some slight grassy notes with mild sweetish notes. Flavour is sweet fruits, caramel, some toffee and mild grassy notes. Quite pleasantly balanced.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Tanakaya. Amber golden colour with big white bubbly head which soon collapses in the middle. Aroma is very fruity, strawberry, lemon, quite sweet but also with a fair bit of hoppy bitterness. Quite malty too. Smells a bit cakey/doughy. Taste is satisfyingly bitter but not overly so. Very fruity, more grapefruity this time. Quite a punch for only 6%. Something herbal in there too. Pretty nice all in all.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Kyoto Craft Beer Fest 2012. Floral and perfumy. Very nice color. Strong bitterness in initial and a somewhat harsh bitter finish. A bit watery. OK stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thought this punched above it’s weight at 5% until I realised it is about on for 6%. Fairly big citrus and lemon rind with a smooth, soft, full malt body. pretty well balanced. Good drinking and the pop of fruitiness on the finish is most welcome and leaves a nice impression.
