Built in 1881 to showcase the electrification of the west, San Jose’s Electric Light Tower stood for over 30 years as a shinning star above the Santa Clara Valley. Our Electric Tower IPA reimagines this icon as an intensely West Coast Style IPA. A firm malt base builds support for the abundance of hops, allowing hints of pine, citrus and tropical fruit to shine through and light up your palate!

Way way too clear for my tastes. Aroma is medicinal at the start and blooms as it warms to real nice hop bomb. Flavor is kind of the same way. At the start it’s bitter as all get out. Bitter slap in the face. Pine and a little fruit & sweet malt. I really enjoyed it but it needs more refinement. Probably made with extracts but not too noticeable. In the end it’s pretty harsh but that may be what your looking for in IPA’s. Every time you bring this beer to your lips it seduces you with sweet hop perfume.

Pours golden with a frothy white head. Aroma is all bright floral hops. Flavor a little on the bitter side; not unpleasantly so. Palate a little thin but definitely drinkable. I would not turn it down. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma of piney hops, a little buttery hops, and a slight fruitiness. Flavour is very sharp, full of soapy floral hops, a little dry pine, and dry biscuity malt. This is quite sharp and astringent, finishing on harsh soapy floral hops. Super dry and quite drinkable. Very solid IPA.

On draft at the Livermore Saloon. It pours a nice golden color with a lasting off white head. The aroma is decidedly strong with caramel, toffee and a little butterscotch (not diacetyl). Some strong floral hops as well. The flavor is caramelly and bitter. Mostly floral hops. Clean and full bodied, but way too malty and low on hop complexity. Kind of reminds me of what a top IPA would be 10 years ago.

Big, frothy head and a deep golden body. Creamy mouthfeel of balanced citrus flavors of grapefruit and malty caramel notes, all backed with a crisp, bitter hop finish. Medium length.

Draft. Rich amber beer with a cream head. Summer fruit aroma. Summer fruit and caramel flavor. Medium bodied. Decent bitterness. Summer fruit and light tropical fruit lingers with caramel.

The brew poured a light amber color, with 2 fingers of a bright white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma is pungent and consists of pine, mango, pineapple and citrus. The flavor follows the nose with only the slightest trace of a malt backbone. The beer is well carbonated and has a light-medium mouthfeel that finishes bone dry.

Fresh bottle. Bottled on May 24, 2013. I agree with the first review. Aromatic, ripe stonefruit, citrus and topical nose. Solid, semi-sweet, tropical, malt backbone on the mid-palate, which quickly drifts into a long, dry, finish of BITTER orange citrus, peach, apricot, florals and some tropical nuances too. The hop bitterness clings to the palate for minutes!!!! Solid first bottle release. Fairly priced for quality. Medium-Medium-plus body, with creamy, soft, round carbonation and mouthfeel. Worth trying... and watching this new brewery. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...
