COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Built in 1881 to showcase the electrification of the west, San Jose’s Electric Light Tower stood for over 30 years as a shinning star above the Santa Clara Valley. Our Electric Tower IPA reimagines this icon as an intensely West Coast Style IPA. A firm malt base builds support for the abundance of hops, allowing hints of pine, citrus and tropical fruit to shine through and light up your palate!

22oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Great aroma. Citrus, grapefruit, pine, floral hops. Very drinkable and refreshing. Everything an IPA should be. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The brew poured a light amber color, with 2 fingers of a bright white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma is pungent and consists of pine, mango, pineapple and citrus. The flavor follows the nose with only the slightest trace of a malt backbone. The beer is well carbonated and has a light-medium mouthfeel that finishes bone dry.

Fresh bottle. Bottled on May 24, 2013. I agree with the first review. Aromatic, ripe stonefruit, citrus and topical nose. Solid, semi-sweet, tropical, malt backbone on the mid-palate, which quickly drifts into a long, dry, finish of BITTER orange citrus, peach, apricot, florals and some tropical nuances too. The hop bitterness clings to the palate for minutes!!!! Solid first bottle release. Fairly priced for quality. Medium-Medium-plus body, with creamy, soft, round carbonation and mouthfeel. Worth trying... and watching this new brewery. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

Bottle. Pours crystal clear orange with a medium off-white creamy head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Big room filling aroma of beautiful grapefruit, passionfruit, mango, cat piss, pine resin. Perhaps a bit of butter as the beer warms and the hop aroma fades? Hits the sweet spot nicely. Flavor is very light sweet, going dry quite quickly with a dry finish. Light bitterness lingering to the finish as well, perhaps strengthening to medium. Just a touch of caramel malt coming through. Medium body, lightly oily mouthfeel. Pretty nice inaugural effort!

Big, frothy head and a deep golden body. Creamy mouthfeel of balanced citrus flavors of grapefruit and malty caramel notes, all backed with a crisp, bitter hop finish. Medium length.

Bomber from Bobby’s in Santa Clara, CA. Pours orange amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is floral/citrus. Near full bodied. This has a nice malt backbone, and a hop burn. Flavor is floral, tropical, citrus, pine. Finishes tasty and pretty bitter. Good stuff.

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2013 Live rate. 22oz bottle from Cask N’ Flask, San Jose, CA. Pops open with an enticing gust of lychee moving into grapefruit, melon, papaya, blackcurrant, aniseed...even a little wisp of garlic- good fresh hops unencumbered by malt. Brilliant bronze with a loose off white foam. The hop freshness continues on the palate with punishing bitterness; dried flowers, slightly less expressive tropical fruit flavours, peppery spice and pine. Oily nut linger and crumbs of biscuit off the malt- no Crystal malt overdose here. Bitter, bitter hops dominate; fresh-picked and pollen-like on the burp. Better than average WCIPA.

Way way too clear for my tastes. Aroma is medicinal at the start and blooms as it warms to real nice hop bomb. Flavor is kind of the same way. At the start it’s bitter as all get out. Bitter slap in the face. Pine and a little fruit & sweet malt. I really enjoyed it but it needs more refinement. Probably made with extracts but not too noticeable. In the end it’s pretty harsh but that may be what your looking for in IPA’s. Every time you bring this beer to your lips it seduces you with sweet hop perfume.

Clear yellow orange color with sticky lacing. Resin on the notes. Dirty palate. Good IPA.

On tap at Gourmet Haus. Citrus and pine aroma. Hazy golden orange with white head hat is fleeting. Leaves lacing. Orange and earth. Resinous. Moderate bitterness.
