Our darkest ale is a true American Stout. Black as a moonless night and full of chocolate and roasted barley flavor, This beer has a creamy, velvety texture from the oats and finishes smooth.

On tap at the Parish Publick House. Amazing cascading carbonation. Dark brown with red hues, light beige foam, lots of lacing. Powdery chocolate aroma with some roasted malt. Flavor is roasted with semisweet chocolate and a dry, burnt coffee finish. A little too watery overall.

This black ale poured with a rich tan head and a strong chocolate aroma. There is also a lot of chocolate in the flavor, which is smooth but sort of thin. Itís a decent oatmeal stout, but not among the best of the style.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt combined with lighter notes of oatmeal. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of oatmeal combined with notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry roasted finish, which also has a light acidic edge from the roasted malt.

Bottle. Black pour but not thick. Tan head. Nose is dark roast coffee and a little vanilla extract. Taste is a mouthful of roast and bittesweet chocolate. Palate isnít as big as I would have thought but the flavor is full even though this is quite drinkable. The body more closely resembles a porter but the flavor is robust enough that you know you are drinking a stout. Enjoyable and drinkable.
