brewandbbq (226), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jun 23, 2008 Pours hazy gold, with a two-inch head of dense white.
Retention is decent with a persistant coating on the surface and a few smears of lacework.
Aromatics lead off with grassy hops and light malt. A bit of grapefruit pulls through, and some orange pith.
Medium bodied, super crisp and dry. Minerally and chaulky.
A blast of drying bitterness starts the pallet, and grapefruit zest follows. Bone-dry, and gypsum-laden. Very light malt with a straw-like woody dryness.
Finishes with lingering bitterness, puckering grapefruit, and a chaulky dryness that won’t quit.
This one needs more hops in the middle and finish, not just bitterness. A bit more malt would help also.

ratman197 (2370), Arvada, Colorado, USA Sep 25, 2008 Bomber poured a cloudy gold with fishys and a small lingering off white head. Aromas of straw, fruittiness, earthiness and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, spice, light carmel and a hint of earthiness with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish. SoCaliente (3), Thousand Oaks, California, USA does not count Sep 6, 2008 A hazy golden color with a white foam top grabs your eyes and invites you to take in the earthy hay grass aroma into your nose.
The slight bitter flavor fills in the medium body. Yet, the bit too lively fizz leaves you with a tickle bright ending.

marcus (1058), Sacramento, California, USA Aug 27, 2008 This hazy golden ale poured with a decent off-white head and a floral aroma. The flavor is creamy caramel malt with some serious hopping. However, the balance is off, resulting in too much bitterness and not enough body. bhensonb (3017), Woodland, California, USA Aug 24, 2008 Bomber from BevMo. Pours hazy gold with a frothy white head. Aromas of floral hop over pale malt sweetness. Near medium body with finely creamy carbonation. It’s hoppy - think I got a fresh one. It’s bitter. It’s floral and a bit citrus. Finish is clean and hoppy. And bitter. Maybe BevMo should keep them in the cooler. riversideAK (1653), Shoreline, Washington, USA Aug 24, 2008 Aroma is somewhat oxidized stale earthy hops. Some odd sweetness as well. Poured a nice shade of gold with a great big head. Tastes plasticy sweet initially followed by some odd yeasty esters. Earthy leafy hops are there in the finish, but are just off. Carbonation is pretty big. The bottle I had was really just plain unpleasant.
