Snojerk321 (907), San Diego, California, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottled. pours a murky copper color with an off-white head. Pine, roses and cereal aromas. Flavor tastes like burnt grain. illidurit (316), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jul 16, 2008 Fresh from a newly filled keg at the brewery. Pours a murky orange-goldenrod with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is earthy and, well, very ’organic.’ Flavor misses the style mark, with more bay laurel and chalk notes than citrus/pine. Again, very earthy and lemongrassy. Not a lot of bitterness. Mouthfeel and drinkability are fine. brianprentiss (385), Mountain View, California, USA Jul 12, 2008 quite a disappointing beer. it’s very sour with a lingering bitter aftertaste. drank 12 oz and chuncked the other 10. acrdz (4148), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 22, 2008 22oz bottle. Lightly cloudy golden wheat colored body with a white head. Nose of dry pine scented hops, some pine wood and some peanuts - but overall light and hoppy, with just a lttle dried fruit. Flavor: nutty, sour grains, putrid old hop leaves mixed with nuts and butter, astonishingly horrid sour, moldy peanut flavor... malt presence is minimal as it should be in IPA, but the sort of chemical nut flavors are hard to ignore. stefanje (483), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA May 29, 2008 650 ml bottle from I can’t remember where. Pours a hazy orange-gold color with a small white head. The aroma is moderate in strength with banana esters and a bit of grapefruit. The flavor is ripe with more grapefruit, some sweet oranges and banana--all set in a mildly biter hoppy backdrop. The mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side. The finish is sour with lingering limes. Overall: Another organic letdown--this whole beer is out of balance and awkward. Not recommended.
