2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle to glass. This is not so bad. Heavy malt aroma with slight paper and a little butter. Clear deep-orange with full off-white head. Malty with slight bitterness and a harsh bite at the end. Slightly oxidize taste as well.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
No nose. Banana Esther’s and malty sweetness. Close to a Scotch ale. Nice mouthfeel. But not mind blowing. Could drink a growler of it though

On tap @ Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing. Amber pour with a white head. Bread, toast, and a bit of grape on the nose. Some grassy hops. Kind of bland. Flavor is a touch bitter and some sweet bread, toast, and grape. Fair amount of grass hops and a hint of earth.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A not-so-bad amber. Pours a nice orange-red color with not much was. Not much smell, slightly nutty, maybe some caramel. Taste is very creamy and nutty. Had on tap at the brewery

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Draft. A light amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt combined with lighter notes of caramel and butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of butter and straw, leading to a dry buttery finish. I wonder if it is a brewing flaw or a dirty draft line that the butter stems from.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
22 oz bomber. A little lacking in anything that is memorable in an amber ale and a little astringent on the palate. Sort of fruity caramel aroma. Flavor is kind of sour? infected or purposefully done. I am inclined to think the former since there is not much else to bring this back to a well crafted beer.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Draught. Hazy amber with a small white head. Sour fruity aroma with grape and light graininess. The flavor is lightly tart and planty in bitterness with some astringent grain husk. Fruity with more grape and grape-skin toward the end and an uncomfortably astringent bitterness in the finish. Messy and harsh with nothing good going for it. I’m generally not the biggest fan of SC Mountain beers, but this brings things to a whole new low and is just plain bad.
