From bottle to pint glass. Weird metallic and cardboard aroma with some earth. Nice looking enough hazy deep orange with white head that leaves a collar. Cardboard and malt with a dank-like grassy hop background. Lots of oxidation and phenols here. Watery mouthfeel with a dry finish.

Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. This is a bottle of hopped infection. Spicy, fruity infection, caramel, cardboard. Not good, Footbalmed.

Draft. A hazy dark golden beer with a thick beige head. The aroma has strong notes of butter. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of butter, which carries on to the finish. Not good. Earlier Rating: 11/21/2010 Total Score: 1.9 Draft. A light golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as lighter notes of hops and onions. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, phenol, and plastic - I’m wondering what went wrong here.

Santa Cruz, the first place I ever bought the silly shrooms, nice little place in my heart but why did all those mountains keep rolling. But about the beer. Pours a light amber, little head. Smell, not much, but where this beer shines is the mouthfeel, big bready yeasty mouthfeel, actually compared to there other beers, very good. Mouthfeel for a light pale lager is big and welcoming. This is a very drinkable beer and highly recommended.

Getting a big buttery flavor. Very unlike any pale I have had and really don’t know what to think of this. It is not terrible but so off style I am flumoxed. Maybe it is the organic nature of this beer I don’t know. Weird off aroma as well. Flavor has some fruitiness and there is a decent body to this thing but I don’t think I would grab this one again.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 scanman (149) - Santa Cruz, California, USA - SEP 22, 2009
This is a terrific ale. I hope that they make it a permanent addition. Dry hopped to perfection. Refreshing ale. Earlier Rating: 8/2/2006 Total Score: 3 Thick head, nice lacing, but way too hoppy. Nice malt taste. One of the best organic beers in the area. Definitely worth a try, but it leans to a home-brew like quality.
