3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
An interesting stout. Just like coffee. Coffee in the smell and taste. A bit one-note though. Pours a nice black with a red hint. Good if you like coffee. Had on tap at the brewery.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown almost black
A ton of aroma of roaster barley. Pretty well blended mix of the standard porter properties of coffee , barley, chocolate and cream. It’s good but thin

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Black, thin to moderate sudsy light beige head, sparce lacing.   Definite coffee aroma.   Otherwise a bit of roasted malts and some dark chocolate.   On the tongue it certainly is coffee oriented, but it
comes across as a little thin.   Coffee, roasted malts, a little ash is what this is about.   Needs to be maltier as it seems a little watery.   Clean finish, lingering coffee.   Decent beer, but needs more umph behind
it, needs to be chewier.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bomber. Pours a dark bruin body with a tan head. Light coffee and grainy malt tones, a hint of cherry and grain. Maybe a bit infected. Thin palate and paper tones. Eh not so good.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours jet black with a thin tan head and a stong aroma of fresh-brewed coffee. There is a coffee and treacle flavor that is, unfortunately, a bit thin with a very dry bitter finish. Good coffee, mediocre beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
09-Mar-11 (22-oz bottle: Purchased 09-May-09 for $3.99 at South Bay Drugs & Liquor in Imperial Beach, CA)
This beer pours dark brown in color with some transparency through all but the center, and the beige head rises to quarter inch before fizzing away in a matter of seconds. The nose combines black coffee, dark chocolate, earth, and black olives with just a touch of sweet, maple syrup. On the palate is mostly dark chocolate, cocoa, and black coffee, along with a bit of licorice, blackstrap molasses, and some ashtray, but there’s also a hint of chili-pepper spiciness that hits the back of the throat very late in the finish. Medium-plus in body with medium carbonation and a bit of tannic dryness on the palate. This one is just okay.
