COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Black IPA transcends style. The idea is simple, but the flavor is complex. It is everything you want in a great IPA, but with a little bit of chocolate. The crisp, dry punch of hops leaves you wondering how this beer has such a balanced flavor. The secret is Midnight Wheat. Aromas of passion fruit, citrus, and pine cut their way through the dark malts to both titillate and challenge the senses. The dry finish and dark ebony color are distinctive characteristics for this winter seasonal and make for a smooth and approachable beer for the masses.

I very much enjoyed this beer. A smooth IPA with the taste benefits of darker beers. I was pleasantly surprised at how balanced this beer is. Love it!! MKH---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml can from Beer Gonzo. Pours black in colour with a beige foam head leaving lacing. Aroma of bready malt with roast and hoppy notes. Taste is malty, bready, roasted, dark chocolate with some mellow pine and citrus hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy earthy bitter finish. Quite drinkable black IPA.

Pours a dark brown from the can, but us quite dark in the glass. Palate is crisp, but I didn't get the chocolate overtones that others say is there. Nevertheless, a pleasant drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from Whole Foods - Indian School Plaza. Pours out with a nice inky black body and creamy beige head, reminiscent of a stout. Aroma favors the roast malts, while taste brings in a bit of fruitiness, and a bite which reminds me of a schwarzbier. The bite lingers on the palate with a hint of sweetness. Not expecting this to be so delicious....

Poured from 12 oz. can. Clear, but dark brown enough to be nearly opaque, with a rootbeer-float-like tan head and excellent lacing. A real looker. Aroma of chocolate, roasted coffee, roasted malt, pineapple and citrus. Taste of roasted coffee, pine, roasted malt, pineapple and chocolate. Medium body and medium/low carbonization. Roasty, hoppy and tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft @ TUS Radisson. Nice hoppy aroma. Black color with ruby highlights on the edges. Taste is fantastic blend of sweet malt and pleasant bitterness. A little citrus, and faint pine, with a touch of roasty malt. Med bodied. Overall, a very tasty IPA! Love it!
