3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, - APR 13, 2012Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a beige head. Aroma is of grassy, piney and grapefruity hops, with caramel, toffee and some sugary notes. The flavor follows the nose, grass, pine and grapfruit, some sugary notes, like brown sugar, caramel, toffee and dark fruits. The body is on the bigger side of medium with a dry mouth feel. Overall a solid Barley Wine, but I have had better.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 fletchfighters (814) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 12, 2013
Orange red color. Half finger of white head, falls to a thin collar.
Nose is of dried fruits, apricot, and candied sugar. Well hidden ABV in the nose.
Taste however is quite boozy. Still a lot of dried fruits with a pepper taste and sugar. Thin body.
Good carbonation, light bodied. Not very sticky or sweet. Quit thin and a lot of the ABV hits home.
Average at best with a killer logo
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 triplehopped (17) - - MAY 10, 2013
Pours a clear amber red. A medium/large tan head dissipates slowly with medium lacing. Smells strong of citrus and floral notes and tastes medium/high in bitterness with a light sweetness. Mouthfeel is lightly fizzy, smooth/oily. The alcohol content certainly comes through in the taste and there is a lingering bitterness for the finish.

Bottle shared by my good friend Dosbeerigos, thanks man! Opened right next to the BA Chicken Killer. This was a very typical barely wine but it was still pretty damn tasty. Good malt presence mixed with a bit of earthy hops.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 alcaponejunior (349) - Texas, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Real nice in the glass, auburn and clear, great head and substantial lacing.
Smell is primarily malt with some caramel and a little bit of spicy, earthy notes.
Flavor is pretty malty, with toffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, and a little plum/sweet fruit. Hops are present but not especially notable.
Mouthfeel is thick and full, sweet on the finish, a bit slick, and definitely warming from ETOH.
It’s a tasty barleywine, not my favorite but worth a try for barleywine lovers.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 wedgie9 (1590) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 18, 2013
Tasted on 3/18/13 from a capped 750mL bottle purchased at Quarter’s in 2010. Pours hazy auburn with a thick tan head that slowly recedes to thick, even lace. The nose is full of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toast, and hops that have aged to the point of smelling like caramelized orange peel. The flavor is much the same, with tons of caramelized malt and just a touch of the aged hops. This is a very nicely balanced Barley Wine hiding the high alcohol content very well. The body is full with just above average carbonation and a long very caramelly and lightly toasted bitter finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 wchesser (664) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 18, 2013
’11 bottle had in March 2013. Pretty typical but flat barleywine nose. Nice rich amber color, no lacing. Rich and malty with lots of toffee. Good but simple. Runs about $5 a bomber so solid value like all their other stuff.

Great Barley Wine! I tasted straight from the Brewery Tap room. Very pleasant experience. This beer definitely has a kick, but is also smooth. A very good Barley Wine. Love the name!!!

22oz bomber from Jubilation on a recent trip to Albuquerque. Pours a deep, opaque brown with a small head that rapidly dissipates. Aroma is sweet and boozy, with some dark fruit and caramelized sugar. Taste is milder than the aroma, and crisp on the palate with a boozy aftertaste.

Chicken Killer wasn’t a bad barleywine by any means but it lacked in hopbite which i’m generally useto in a barleywine.

Harsh initial alcohol smell at first pour, but dissipates. Tastes exactly like the alcohol smell. Made a tingling sensation in my mouth. I've never poured a beer out but I had to with this. Very disappointed.
