4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From a can at local Smithís. Iíve gradually gravitated to this local offering as my favorite IPA. Not as extreme as the high end west coast stuff but much more balanced. Fluffy white head on the pour revealing beautiful amber color and moderate carbonation. Piney hops nose and taste comes through loud and clear on the front and the back side balanced by a nice malty backbone and creamy texture. Not a particularly complex beer, but in the end, thatís what I like about it the most. Highly recommended!

[ Can ][ 12oz x 2 ][ Various Santa Fe Bars ][ $5 ][ Conical Pint ][ 9.5.14 ]
>> Awesome packaging. Hazy orange golden pour with large yellowish foam with great rocky retention and swathes of thicker lace. Nose is soy, muted, bitter lemon, orange peel. Taste is denser bodied, chewy, caramel, pine resin, orange peel. Quite bitter with sharp nutty bite and orange peel. As it warms, it gains some gristy notes in nose and taste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From can. This beer pours a hazy orange with a medium white head that leaves a lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma is pine and citrus. Taste is the same, bitter with good malty character. Not sweet. Dry bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft. Pours orange with a nice head and lacing. Aroma is lacking, but nice flavor of citrus and pine. Also a subtle maltiness that reminds me of honey. Nicely balanced with a slight dry bitter finish. Decent IPA.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This ones a 5 for me. Aroma is just flawless. Perfect for an IPA. Itís fruity, piney, malty it has everything going for it. The color is just gorgeous. a nice dark orange copper with a perfect head. Taste is bitter, but sort of sweet in a good way with tons of hoppy bitterness. The cascade and amarillo shine through here along with the simcoe. This is just a perfect easy drinking delicious IPA from New Mexico. Digging this, will definitely be stocking up!

pours dark amber with a lasting white head and some lacing. bready aroma with some dark fruit, nuts and citrus notes. taste begins muted and hoppy and opens a bit later on with notes of cherry, roses, grapefruit and peach. finish has much more of the grapefruit character. Decent, balanced IPA.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
The writing on the can implies that this is more pleasant that wiping your ass w/ a pine cone. I wouldnít know about that but itís a pretty decent IPA. It is a red orange color w/ a long-lasting and fine bubbled head w/ streaky patches of lacing. Itís nose is of pine and mango w/ a bit of lemon and black tea. The malt character is pretty straight forwardly sweet and the texture is a bit on the heavy side for the style. It finishes w/ a lingering citrus rind bitterness and a bit of an astringent note. I donít know when this was canned but it expires on 10/09/2014 and I am trying it in the middle of July of the same year so this might perhaps be a little old but as this is, it shows decent balance and no off flavors but there is very little compelling about the flavor or aroma.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Drank from a cool-looking 12oz can at the Maplewood Let Them Eat Art street festival, thanks Jed! Intense American hoppy aromas and flavours: grapefruit, black currant, pine resin, ganja weed, red plums. Underlying maltbill was nice and grainy, hint of biscuit, honey, caramel. Nice alcoholic strength, round mouthfeel, medium-light body, citrus rind aftertaste enhancing the dry finish. An enjoyable hops-forward A-IPA. Delicious stuff, especially outside on a hot day. Itís pretty cool this kind of beer can be found in cans. Imagine the canoe trip!
