Wiping your rear with a pine cone is about as rough as camping should get. That’s why we invented this portable IPA in a can. A hoppy, refreshing beverage that goes great with campfires, bears, granola, and mosquito repellent. Happy Camping!

12 oz. can at The Wood in Maplewood. Great-looking can, probably making every other NM brewer jealous by getting to it first. Actually, I’ve been to this brewery and seen it around enough that I’m surprised I’ve never had it before. It pours a clear, bright gold witha white head and lots of carbonation bubbles in the glass. The fresh, zesty hop nose really pops; I could smell it when I first cracked the can. But it seems to mellow in a glass. The flavor also starts light and fresh and hoppy but gets heavier and more purely bitter as it gets lower. Medium-plus carbonation. Good, fresh IPA that is better in its first half than the second. Actually, it might just be better straight from the can.

Can, at ELP Radisson. Light piney aroma. Cloudy orangish dark amber color, with white head and pretty good lacing. Had a lingering piney bitterness in the aftertaste. Med body, high carbonation gives fuzzy mouthfeel. Overall, a pretty good "old school" IPA.

Cans at the Lake of the Ozarks. It’s OK, although a bit of cardboard to it. It went down really well, ice cold on a hot day floating around the lake.

Citrus and pine resin in the aroma. Taste is fruity bitter, with some underlying malt sweetneess. More citrus bitterness in the finish. Nice effort.

Poured from 12 oz can into pint glass. Appearance: off white 2" head drops quickly with moderate lacing. Color is hazy orange with tons of sediment in suspension. Mild streaming carbonation. Aroma: strong citrus and pine aroma with some yeasty white bread dough also. Mouthfeel: light to medium and sticky with a somewhat dry finish. Flavor: citrus and pine are throughout the taste with a lingering rind bitterness. White bread sweet malt adds some balance. Overall: very good IPA, appropriate to the style.
