COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the kind of beer that gives the word "stout" a reputation. Extra generous quantities of barley malt, followed by vigorous fermentation leaves this "imperial" heavy weight with 8% alcohol A.B.V. and a body as full as chocolate bread pudding. A complimentary and complex array of bitter notes comes form potent American hops, earthy British hops, black-roasted malts and, of course, coffee. Santa Fe Brewing Company uses only top-quality ingredients like organically grown East Timor coffee beans blended with New Guinea coffee beans, locally roasted by Oíhoriís Coffee House. Its heavenly flavor and aroma canít be beat or imitated.

Dark beer with a mahogany hue when held against the light. Thin tan head. Great coffee bean nose. Big sweetened coffee flavor with large doses of chocolate, molasses, burnt toast and a long green finish. Very rich coffee beer.

12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a burnt motor oil black from my wifeís old Neon color-black is the best color to describe until something darker comes along. Creamy and foamy tan head with scores of tiny frog eyes upon the liquid surface, and it laced very nicely upon the vessel. Aroma of a burnt to hell and back malt (but it loved every moment of it), some light bakerís chocolate, smoke, and the coffee that I have to order once a month from a roaster in Michigan because these TexUGHtucky fucktards canít do a damn thing right. Hits the mouth with a wide and hard body, malt actually tastes like it was just lightly roasted- Iíll be damned, middle has some dark chocolate, finish is zesty, lightly acidic, and finely sweet. Now thatís a beer- from NM? Oh... REALLY!?!

Aluminum can poured into snifter. Pours a darkest brown, opaque and almost black. Sticky, soapy lacing follows a pencil thin khaki head that dissipates into a collar. Aroma is of coffee, heavy roast, malt, and a hint of cocoa. Flavor is mostly the same, but with an emphasis on roasted coffee. Pretty decent stout, especially since it came out of a can. 8% ABV is tolerable and makes this more drinkable than some other, stronger stouts.

On tap at Rock and Run Pub. Dark brown in color with a finger of off white foam and good lacing. Big mocha and coffee aroma with charred roasted malt and some cocoa. Taste is similar with a slightly sweet mocha flavor with some vanilla and nice coffee flavor. Roasty with some nutty character, cocoa and just a hint of alcohol. Some roasty bitterness in aftertaste. Finishes semi dry with smooth roasty bitterness. Mouthfeel is creamy with a medium body and carbonation. Very tasty and drinkable coffee stout. Would definitely have again.

Purchased in six pack form at Specís in Austin, TX; enjoyed after a great day gallivanting around the city. Appearance is a rich, thick black with a nice tan head that curdles ala Guinness, pretty cool to see. Aroma is huge on the bitter coffee notes, with notes of oatmeal, chocolate malt, very subtle lactose. Taste goes down lightly bitter, rich in chocolate and coffee, very thick, definite dessert brew. Iím really enjoying this one, nothing too overpowering but still potent.

12 oz. can. Pours opaque with a lasting film of cream. Nose is coffee, cocoa and a touch of vanilla. Taste is the same mix with a bit of toasted nut and a touch of booze. Medium-heavy body is nearly harshly dry with the roast and coffee. Mostly smooth medium carbonation, but shows a bit more warmth than necessary for only 8%.

12 oz. can. Appearance: finger of tight light brown head, great lacing, dark brown-black color, clear. Aroma:coffee, chocolate, nuts, light pine, light alcohol. Palate: creamy texture, full body, soft carbonation, light alcohol. Taste: heavy heavy coffee, light sweet with bitter coffee finish. Overall, a little unbalanced for me, but other than that, great.

Thanks to StefanSD for this can! Roasted coffee-nose, slightly malty. The beer starts roasted-intense, Espresso, dark roasted malt. But still easy to drink. The aftertaste is long, coffee-intense, malty. Nicely bitter in the aftertaste, round and balanced.
Great roasted coffee-brew! --> 14/13/14/14
