This is the kind of beer that gives the word "stout" a reputation. Extra generous quantities of barley malt, followed by vigorous fermentation leaves this "imperial" heavy weight with 8% alcohol A.B.V. and a body as full as chocolate bread pudding. A complimentary and complex array of bitter notes comes form potent American hops, earthy British hops, black-roasted malts and, of course, coffee. Santa Fe Brewing Company uses only top-quality ingredients like organically grown East Timor coffee beans blended with New Guinea coffee beans, locally roasted by O’hori’s Coffee House. Its heavenly flavor and aroma can’t be beat or imitated.

10/11/13. Can from Derek in a trade. In terms of pure coffee stouts, this could be the most coffee of them all. Pours black. Smell is amazing coffee. Taste is amazing coffee!! If I needed to find a flaw, maybe a little watery on the mouth feel. If you're a pure coffee stout lover, I think it would be hard pressed to find a better one ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can. Poured into beer glass at refrigerator temp. Rather short lived head and semi opaque body. Immediate notes of cocoa and coffee. Moderate carbonation. This brew got a little tastier as it warmed. I found the balance of coffee, malt and chocolate to be excellent. One of the better samplings from Santa Fe in my opinion.

Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, consumed outside in the garden Sunday 15th May 2016 Pours black with a huge foamy head tan in colour. Smooth, creamy, roasty coffee on the nose, much the same in the mouth, belies it’s strength, really easy drinking. Nice beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Aroma was the only thing I liked about this beer. It’s fresh with coffee and chocolate aromas but from there it only went downwards with a sour and misplaced taste of tart oranges. The aftertaste is unbalanced and sour.

Aroma - rich coffee roast and chocolate. Appearance - the body is black. The head is a fallow brown and about 1 1/2" and has tight head retention. Head slowly settles. Lacing and some alcohol cloying. Taste - has rich espresso - you can taste the fresh grind, chocolate pudding, roast, and alcohol. Palate - full body, chewy and thick, the carbonation is average, the finish is rich in roast ~ the astringency is stout and last long in the roof of your palate.
