This is the kind of beer that gives the word "stout" a reputation. Extra generous quantities of barley malt, followed by vigorous fermentation leaves this "imperial" heavy weight with 8% alcohol A.B.V. and a body as full as chocolate bread pudding. A complimentary and complex array of bitter notes comes form potent American hops, earthy British hops, black-roasted malts and, of course, coffee. Santa Fe Brewing Company uses only top-quality ingredients like organically grown East Timor coffee beans blended with New Guinea coffee beans, locally roasted by O’hori’s Coffee House. Its heavenly flavor and aroma can’t be beat or imitated.

Just a great stout. Very smooth! Exactly what you want out of a Java Stout. Coffee flavor is just right and not over bearing. Just damn good!!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of my favorite beers ever. Rich, intense coffee aroma, and full body. Not too hoppy, with a fantastic chocolate background to the coffee. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz Can. Like the Happy Camper IPA, this is wonderfully flavorful. I love the wonderful rich full bodied coffee flavor. The stout provides the perfect platform for the richness and complexities of a good cup of coffee. If you start the day off with a cup of coffee this is a perfect way to start your evening.

Truly an amazing brew. And better yet, you tastes good straight from the can, around the camp fire.

From the can. Pours a deep dark brown with a pillowy cloud of tan foam. Massive aroma of chocolate and expresso. Like a mocha latte with a little whipped cream. Perfectly carbonated with a medium/full mouthfeel. Chocolate bread pudding is an accurate description. Bready with a dry roasted finish. This is something I could wake up to.

Pours dark, dark ruby with a tiny light beige head. Smells of coffee, coffee, and coffee. Taste is coffee, coffee, and coffee, with coffee bitterness. Medium-to-full bodied with a smooth texture and lightly fizzed mouth-carbonation, Santa Fe Imperial Java Stout finishes with a touch of coffee bitterness.

Wow! This Impy stout was a nice surprise! Never expected this beer to taste so good. Nice coffee and chocolate flavor with a creamy mouthfeel almost like a 3 musketeer candy bar. Very good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Coffee!!! Holy cow. Pours a dark brown and the coffee just floods out of the can. Minimal head big mouthfeel. Lots of chocolate and coffee. Great breakfast beer.

Can to snifter. Black pour, tall off white head, medium lasting. Robust, smooth, bold, bitter finish, sweet coffee aroma and flavor. A little bit boozy, definitely wiry. A big bodied stout. Score: A+ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Was Meh coming into it got it on tap at the Bricklight Dive. This beer blew my mind, very dark very flavorful to completely hide the higher abv. It comes in cans too and is just a mindblower. It is pure stout but mutes the thickness of a stout with intense aroma and flavor or java, and not folgers but high quality small batch java. Overall one of the best stouts I have tasted and rates above Deschutes Obsidian for me.
