COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the kind of beer that gives the word "stout" a reputation. Extra generous quantities of barley malt, followed by vigorous fermentation leaves this "imperial" heavy weight with 8% alcohol A.B.V. and a body as full as chocolate bread pudding. A complimentary and complex array of bitter notes comes form potent American hops, earthy British hops, black-roasted malts and, of course, coffee. Santa Fe Brewing Company uses only top-quality ingredients like organically grown East Timor coffee beans blended with New Guinea coffee beans, locally roasted by O’hori’s Coffee House. Its heavenly flavor and aroma can’t be beat or imitated.

Can. The pour was an espresso jet black with an average sized (1-2 finger) light brown frothy head that was mostly lasting and produced some excellent sheeting on the glass. The aroma was extremely strong of a fresh ground French Roasted coffee, a burnt black bread malt and an earthy doughy yeast with notes of bakers chocolate and a hint of toffee and black licorice. The taste was lightly sweet and quite malty with notes of chocolate and toffee early on and then progressed into a strong bitter coffee flavor with a mild alcohol finish. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow, and had a nice espresso taste that was left to linger. Mouthfeel was bold and full in body with a dry, oily texture and a mild carbonation. Overall this brew is very well balanced and quite tasty. It could very well be put into an espresso cup, and would be enjoyed immensely.

Can to snifter. Black pour, tall off white head, medium lasting. Robust, smooth, bold, bitter finish, sweet coffee aroma and flavor. A little bit boozy, definitely wiry. A big bodied stout. Score: A+ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A little more carbonation than I was expecting. Had a decent chocolate malt flavor. The coffee flavor was pretty weak. While drinking the Stout, it seemed a little watery for my taste. I might drink this again.

A decent java stout. A little thin in the mouth compared to others. Will review again later.

A really weak java stout. Very slight hints of chocolate and coffee. This stout taste very watered down.

Dark brown, almost black pour with small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, hint of chocolate, and leather. Taste of strong bitter coffee, roasted malts and creamy chocolate. Full bodied, medium carbonation, bitter long finish. Not all that complex but a nice solid imperial stout, coffee forward.

Tasty lil beer. Pours very dark brown almost black with a dark khaki head. Aroma of coffee, roast and chocolate. Flavors are the same with a sweet fudge dark fruit component. Finish lingers nicely, sticky on the lips. Slightly thin for the style.

Can thanks to Wittales. Pours nearly black with short-lived tan head. Aroma: coffee and chocolate, mostly. Smells like a big, well-balanced stout. Taste: Light chocolatey sweetness with pleasantly balanced roast coffee, somewhat bitter finish. Medium+ body, average carbonation, oily texture. Overall: This was totally off my radar, but it’s delicious.

12 oz can into a pint glass. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a medium tan head that slowly fades, leaving good lacing. Nose is coffee and dark roast malt. Taste follows the nose, with a medium finish. Slight hop bitterness on the finish. Very well-balanced.
