The Kriek is part of our Los Innovadores series of wild fermented ales. Inspired by the time-honored Belgian Lambics fermented with cherries, it’s an incredibly refreshing and balanced take on the classic style. The beer aged in American Oak barrels for two years with a carefully selected blend of wild yeasts, eventually undergoing a secondary fermentation with world-famous Michigan tart cherries and sake yeast. The result is an ale with a bright garnet color and an intense cherry aroma, reminiscent of warm cherry pie, that is both sweet and tart, followed by a complex sour flavor and a crisp finish.

A short, slowly fading, frothy white head falls to a solid ring over a clear, vibrant tangerine body displaying several streamers of very fine carbonation, solid falling arcs and dots of lacing on each sip

A kaleidoscope of seamlessly integrated tropical fruit, melon, stone fruit, and white wine complexities embossed by a mildly creamy funk over strong acidity and sourness on a cohesive, softly carbonated, creamy-slick medium body offering a solid coating of acid and cutting dryness leading to residuals of the previously mentioned components... very enjoyable

Bottle at WTWBA 2015 in Minneapolis. Hazy orange pour with a slight pinkish white head. Tart cherry, quite good. I appreciate the hard to get New Mexico tick up here in the northland!

Bottle. Slightly hazy crimson. A wispy pink head appears after some vigorous pouring but fades away quickly. The bouquet is a blend of balsamic and white vinegar, soft cherry and caramel, like cherry cola. There’s a little more cola in the flavor, too, with brown sugar and caramel. Balsamic vinegar settles in after that, bringing with it tart/sweet cherries. Not too complex, but good. Carbonation is a little low for style. Medium-light body. Acidity is nice.

yum yum, what a surpise, no mint or toothpaste flavors. Great cherryes, light lactosey, dry finish. Awesome stuff here

Such a great beer...glad I picked up a few bottles! This one has some qualities of a few of the best Kriek’s I’ve had the pleasure to taste. Cherry skin, graham cracker, caramel, brown sugar, Macintosh apples, yeast, vanilla, oak, and berries. So complex and delicious! Get one if you can!

Tasted on 1/24/15 from a 750mL swing-top bottle at Swilliams’ bonfire, obtained from the group EtF trade. Pours hazy pink tinted orange with an average white head that leaves average bubbly lace. The nose is very sour, cherry, very funky cherry pit, some cherry pie spice. The flavor very sour but balanced, with fresh cherry, almondy cherry pit, and some cherry pie spice and crust. The body is medium and tannic with lively carbonation and a long spiced and sour cherry finish.

Shared by BDR; thanks Brad. Some yeast aroma. Cherry flavor, and it is tart. Yeast in the flavor as well. Sour cherry flavor, mixed with the moderately sour, balsamic flavors of the underlying beer.

I think this beer is severely underrated on Ratebeer. It is a delicate, tart, sour ale. All of the flavors are so profound and mesh well together. The oak and Cherry are very noticeable, but not overbearing. The palate is silky silky smooth and delicate. Very drinkable. It glides over your tongue with absolutely no friction. I would compare it to Prairie Artisan's Cherry Funk, but honestly Los Innovadores blows Cherry Funk out of the water. IT'S SO DAMN GOOD
