Pours black with a thin dark beige head. Aroma of licorice and dates. The body is a bit thinner for an Imperial, but still quite substantial. I take lots of carob but not so much chocolate. The finish is oddly waxy. I like this beer. mreusch (752), Olathe, Kansas, USA

Pours a nice dark brown with ruby highlights and a large and lasting fluffy tan head. Aroma is a big dose of chocolate and ripe dark fruits, along with some caramel and dark roast coffee. Flavor is a bit sweet, with more chocolate, dark fruits, and caramel. A solid Impy Porter, thanks again Baker! drjay44 (865), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 9, 2009 sampler at the brewery. Pours a thin head, with a bit of lacing, over a clear black brown (SRM 35) body.......nose is roasted malts including, coffee, chocolate, a bit of dried fruit, including cherry and raisin.....taste is initially rich sweet, roasted malts with coffee and chocolate, ending in mild bitterness....mouth feel is thick, rich heavy and sticky, carbonation low but adds creaminess. This is rich, thick, heavy and balanced sweetness. A nicely done Imperial. JCB (1840), Durham, North Carolina, USA

Big lively pour with an active carbonation that blooms improbably from this thick oily body. Huge chocolate notes in the nose, and I’m talking straight Hershey bar rather than just chocolate malts. Lively palate, slight chalk on the finish (which I dig). Slight char and roast coffee in the taste, with a dash of fruit for complexity. But even though this is a fairly straightforward brew, it succeeds in what it wants to do. Really enjoyable. Rustyham (643), miami, Florida, USA
