3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Damico (1216) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 15, 2011
The aroma is a bit leathery but nice. The beer pours dark chestnut brown with a nice tan head. The flavor starts out creamy and light roasty like a porter, sweet notes for sure. The body starts to thin out as it gets warmer, with light booze notes.

Sweet with hop bitterness on the attack, with espresso bean, vanilla, dark chocolate and ash.

Enjoyed from a tulip glass. Dark as night with a good half inch brownish head. My nose is picking up chocolate, espresso, and some smokeyness to it. Amazing. It still has a touch of hops initially and then evens out to a lot of chocolate and some espresso on the tongue. A very pleasant amount of carbonation. It feels like a cool shot of creamy espresso rolling through my mouth. Very easy drinker. Let’s just say it left me wanting more. It’s been a while since the last time I had this and it really seems to be aging really well.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CLevar (284) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 6, 2010
From bottle at tasting (Levi’s).Notes. Pours black, with a very slight light tan head rising, very minimal lacing. Aroma is tobacco and some dark fruit. Taste is complex: caramel, burnt malt, coco and coffee. Some booze on the exhale. Mouthfeel is chewy, but slightly mouth coating and syrupy.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 bigbish (354) - Colorado, USA - SEP 22, 2010
Got hooked up with bottle 129 by a friend. Boy am I glad. This is probably the best porter I’ve ever head. The aroma is very strong. Very sweet, complex aroma. The flavor is powerful. Caramel, some hints of dark fruits, roasted notes, and a perfect balance of bitterness. This is an amazing beer.

From 750 ml bottle (1932 out of 3708) shared by MatSciGuy, pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a thick tan head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of black and chocolate malt, a hint of bourbon, some light licorice and a touch of vanilla. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of dark chocolate malt, brown sugar, a hint of smoke and some bourbon. Finish is a tad alcoholic and warm. Allow this one to settle down in a couple years.

Pours deep black, aroma of bourbon, vanilla, caramel, chocolate. Taste is nice chocolate up front, some smoke and bourbon in the middle, leading into sweet vanilla and more chocolate in the finish. A bit boozy, but overall a really nice imperial porter.

bottle thanks to Baker! Pours pitch black with a medium tan head. Aroma is very barrel forward, earthy wood notes and brown sugar. Flavor is mild licorice, roasted malts, burnt sugar and vanilla with lingering oak notes in the finish. This is a great beer.
