Full, rich taste, nice thick tan head, dark opaque pour, one of the better porters I’ve had, and this is one of my favorite styles.

Secret Santa bottle. This was nice, lighter and easy drinking porter. I just remember thinking, "this is interesting. " Something in the sweeter notes were unique. Another NM beer for me!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour out of bottle is dark brownish black with off white head, aroma brought notes of roasted malt, coffee bean, dark chocolate, hints of earth and caramel in there as well, but very inviting. Taste is a nice mix of roast and coffee, hints of sweet caramel go into a earth and roasted finish. Simple, but the tastes worked very well together.

Cask at GBBF 2011. Black color. Roasty aroma with licorice and coffee. Sweetish and smoothly roasty flavor with coffee, chocolate, nuts and toffee. Good drinkability and good balance between sweetness and roastyness.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A robust porter with comforting flavors like roasted nuts, chocolate, and coffee. Appearance is super-dark brown with ruby around the edges. Aroma is malty. High quality hops are present, but they were used in moderation. This brew is stronger than your average six-pack porter, and tastes better. Perfect for the incredibly cold weather that we’re currently experiencing here in NM.
