Short strings of lace on the glass. Roasted malt and chocolate in the nose. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt, chocolate and coffee. The finish is sweet with a roasty malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin and fading tan head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, roasted pine nuts. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Taste is great, very much like the aroma with a bit of coffee added. Lightly bitter finish.

Pint at the Plaza. This is a really satisfying porter, actually. It has an even roasty espresso bittersweetness with judicious hop use. The palate is spot on for the style. Even flavors of cacao and espresso hit the tongue. Finish is balanced and bold enough. This is a good stock American porter.

Pours a dark coffee brown with a medium white/tan head. Aroma is of coffee, roasted malt, and chocolate. Moderately bittersweet. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation on the tongue, slightly bitter finish. Overall, very satisfying and surprisingly sweet; sure pleased one who is not overly fond of porters.

Bottle poured a deep dark brown hue w/ big tan slowly diminishing creamy head leaving a nice cap w/ good lacing. Mild malty aroma. Initial flavor is a very light sweet with a subtle bitter finish of short duration. Taste is predominately the roast, which I’d describe as a medium roast, there isn’t a burnt French roast to the beer which to me is nice. Subtle coffee and chocolate notes. This is a solid straight forward porter. Medium bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and light alcohol in the finish.

12 oz. bottle from a mixed six pack from Albertson’s in Taos. Pours a deep coffee brown with a small beige head. Nice aroma of rich, toasted malts, nuts, coffee, and dark chocolate. The flavor is similar, with more of an earthy, leafy quality. A little metallic note, too. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation. Solid porter.

Sampled on 10/9/2012. This porter pours a dark black color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized off-white foamy head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate and slightly sweet. A medium bodied porter. The malts are roasty and coffee, fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. There are some brown sugar and molasses flavors as well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish Is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly roasty and sweet.
