COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A slightly hazy, golden color Belgian IPA. Aroma lends notes of orange and other citrus. Upon first sip, hop bitterness dances with a slight pepper, then gives way to orange and fruit. Very drinkable, not heavy on the palate. Ideal for import drinkers and "hopheads" alike.

Growler from Total Wine & More in Tucson. I agree with the description, more or less. Appearance is clear, dark yellow, slight lacing. Yeah, not a strong IPA, but I don’t know if it’s a "Belgian IPA" either, although it’s not too far from a saison. Very very drinkable. Score!

Tap at brewpub february 2013 Pours clear orange hue with a lovely soapy white head. nose is very citric pineapple, tangerines lite medicinal notes. flavors are lite wit spice, flowery hops, pretty much a standard white ipa here. very solid session brew here. body is crisp and somewhat lite but adds to the session aspects of this brew. lovely pine notes long into the finish. Solid!

10 karat pour with a tightly packed ivory foam. Bright grapefruit, Belgian spice, coriander, black pepper, lemongrass, and honey. Herbaceous and leafy...evergreen with citrus and spice. Ample carbonation ignites the palate. Enjoyable.

Growler from Total Wine Tucson; January 2013
A steady pour from the growler produces a two-finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a nice copper color that shows just a hint of haze, and a bright, yellow-gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells quite lemon-like, and it has an underlying, herbal, almost dank quality to it; it is a touch like garlic-chives in some ways. There is a nice supporting pale cracker like malt character here that is noticeable at times, and if you really dig in some spicy higher alcohols are noticeable in the finish.

Fairly dry up front, but it picks up some sweetness that is brought out by the fruity hop character. Some phenolic and ester character is contributed by the yeast, this seems to accentuate the fruit character from the hops. The beer has a nice effervescent carbonation, but still manages to have a creamy mouthfeel to it; it is light and quaffable, but still has some palate heft to it. The hop character contributes substantial notes of Meyer Lemon, lots of kumquat, lychee, and tangerine zest are all noticeable up front and in the middle. The finish sees a peppery, slightly herbal and grassy (perhaps more like a weedy / wildflower thing), along with a lingering bitterness that provides some bite. The malt character plays a supporting role here, but does certainly contribute with notes of dried straw, pale wheat crackers, . As the beer warms up a garlic-chive like character becomes more prominent and adds a dank, herbal quality to it that is quite “green”; this character is accentuated by the “Belgian” fermentation character, but this is more an accentuating note than something that is so apparent.

This is quite nice, and quite quaffable. I really like that the yeast character plays more of supporting role here; so often Belgian IPAs end up harsh and cacophonous b/c the yeast character overly clashes with the hop notes, here they mostly play nice together, but one still gets the feeling that this would be a tastier “IPA” without the Belgian yeast, no matter how well in check they have been held. A tasty beer in the end, it could use a touch less “garlic-chive” hop character, but this is soft enough that it does not detract overly.

Growler pours clear copper with thick gold edges and supporting an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up some tropical fruity mango mixing with tangelo like citrus and a touch of lime. The taste is similar with a mix of mango, tangelo and lime like tartness as well as some smooth subtle malt sweetness holding this together. Darn tasty IPA with a good dose of both hop flavor and hop bitterness. Dandy!

Growler shared from the brewery, orange pour with a white head. A tasty and citrusy hop character. Just the right amount of bitterness. Good stuff, need to make this a regular brew.

Oragne pour, white head. Citrus hops up front, resins, malt, some toffee. Not damn bad at all!

On tap at SanTan. Pours a light orange with a frothy two-finger head. Aroma of slight sweet citrus with some mellow hops. Mild hop bitterness to start with a quite sweet orange finish that lingers before ending with a dry, gritty mouthfeel. A nice, refreshing IPA.

Reminds me a lot of Uinta’s HopNotch which is towards the top of my favorite session IPA’s. End is definitely smoother though and doesn’t have a huge hoppy snap which makes it very drinkable. Great head that keeps all the flavors and a nice clear golden color to it. Highly recommended! (If you live in the area)
