American Brewers have re-defined this traditional English Ale with an intense bitterness derived from the distinct citrus/pine character of Pacific Northwest hops. A dry, crisp malt character and aggressive alcohol make our I.P.A. a Hop-Heads Passion. 16.5°

Can. A golden color with a white head. A floral aroma with a citrus and pine finish. Smooth and easy drinking. A nice straightforward IPA.

This was a pleasant surprise at the Phoenix airport on draft. Crisp and hoppy. Just about what I like best in an IPA. Light color and great head.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2014 SanTan’s HopShock does so many things right. It offers lots of hop bitterness. At the same time, there’s alcohol sweetness and a sticky pine sensation that lingers on the palate. That touch of honey-like alcohol sugar is what really makes this brew shine.

12 oz can. Cooper red pour, with nice white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and grapefruit. Taste - fairly mellow up front, mid way through there is a nice bit of citrus, finishes with a medium amount of hop bitterness. A nice drinkable IPA.

Poured from a 12oz can. Aroma is pine and English malt. Flavors are pine, tropical fruit, citrus, and English malt. Nice Ipa, a little bitter going down, for sure a dryer Ipa. Good beer overall, glad my brother brought me this from his trip!

12-oz. can. Brief, sharp piney hop aroma with a bit of orange. Clear orange-amber in color with a solid head and thin lacing. Very bitter forward with a lot of pine resin, alfalfa, and some citrus with the briefest of light pastry dough maltiness before a somewhat harsh bitterness takes over to finish, leaving a dry, bitter aftertaste. Unlike the hop characteristics of many other IPAs, the flavor does not advance much past the one-note piney bitterness. This has never been a favorite of mine.

Can from JustDrinkIt. Thanks. Pours a rich golden color with two fingers of frothy foam that sticks nicely. The nose is a bit restrained with honeycomb sweetness and a touch of citrus and stale grass. The palate follows with a decent balance between a sweet malt backbone and a bitter citrusy hop presence. The sweetness borders on cotton candy a bit and the mouthfeel is a tad sticky but overall a decent local offering and my first Arizona beer !

Can 12 oz. Pours deep clear amber with a great lacing beige head. Aroma is fruity piny citric caramel grassy malty. Flavor is as aroma, a bit rough bitterness taking too much space, remains fir a long time on the palate.
