COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Brewers have re-defined this traditional English Ale with an intense bitterness derived from the distinct citrus/pine character of Pacific Northwest hops. A dry, crisp malt character and aggressive alcohol make our I.P.A. a Hop-Heads Passion. 16.5į

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Lagunitas mason jar From: Whole Foods in Tempe, Ariz. Price: $2.59 Purchased: May 17, 2014 Consumed: May 21, 2014 Misc.: Crafted on Feb. 26, 2014 Poured a dark orangeish, amber, hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki-white pillowy head. Average-to-lively average foamy lacing along the sides of the glass. Very good retention on the top. Smelled citrus hops, nectarine, caramel malts, earthy rye malts, iced tea, light grapefruit, orange rind, bitter tropical hops and mango. Tasted not quite as good as I hoped. Got citrus hops, nectarine, orange rind, mango and other tropical hops up front, immediately followed by bitter earthy malts, boozy, astringent alcohol and rye hops. Bitter aftertaste. Grapefruit notes come in late, but not a good overall taste. Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Astringent, bitter finish. This IPA was just OK. I wavered on pretty much all five categories, so this could have gone a bunch of different ways.

Can from gordito. Pours a dark orangish amber with a bit of haze and a decent head. Aromas are pineapple and a bit of resin. Flavor is yummy. Lots of balance with a decent resin, orange, pineapple and a hint of passion fruit. Darn good beer.

Aroma of citrus, pine, some earthy notes. Pours clear amber/orange with thin head. Thin body. Mid range hop finish. Put a six pack of these in my golf bag for the round. Accomplished their task although my game didnít improve.

Can. Nice fruity aroma with a fresh hop aspect. Slightly hazy dark amber. Nice frothy off white head. Smooth and somewhat creamy. A little messy but an enjoyable hoppy brew. Probably underrated. Not as good as the lumberyard IPA I had before it but not significant deficient.

12 oz. can supplied by agentzigzag. Many thanks! To oversized snifter, it pours a reddish copper dark hazy orange with which a sudsy, trim off-white head 1 finger in length, stood. Aromas of felt pen ink, erasers, seaweed, wet newspaper, cabbage, and pilsener malt. Tastes the same with the addition of oniony hops, Swiss cheese, burnt plastic, and collared greens. Produces a slightly salty flavor by swallow. Chewy yet velvety and incredibly drinkable. This was perfect for my mindset at the time.

Location: Draft at Binkís, 3/7/14

Aroma: The aroma has some grapefruit hops, a little pine, caramel, floral, and earthy notes
Appearance: A clear copper-orange with an average off-white head and some average lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, light-medium sweet and medium-plus bitter
Palate: The body is medium, it has a solid mouthfeel, and a clean, lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a solid IPA. It isnít a standout in the style, but it was a more than drinkable example.
