3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 argo0 (10382) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 22, 201312oz can, thanks BuckNaked. Crystal clear amber body atop medium off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pine, light cattiness. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, pine, light catty. Light-medium body, light resin. It’s a smooth drinker that hides its alcohol well. But it also seems a bit lighter in the hoppiness that I want from an IPA. So I’d consider it something of a higher alcohol APA.

12 fl oz / 355mL can into a Samuel Adams glass. Served cold.
Aroma: Citrus, especially lemon, and grapefruit. Nice piney hop aroma. Slight maltiness.
Appearance: Transparent rusty amber with a thick off-white head. One of the darker IPAs I’ve seen.
Taste: Strong hop presence here. Piney. Reminds me of Stone’s beers. Not as much citrus as I expected from the aroma, but it’s deliciously bitter. A little bit of malt.
Palate: Medium-full body, nice lingering flavors.
Overall: Fantastic IPA. Faaaaantastic.

Got this in a trade with swingracex. 12 ounce can into pint glass, no canning date. Pours lightly hazy deep orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Spotty foamy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, floral, pine, caramel, and light floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of hop and malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, floral, pine, caramel, light biscuit, and floral earthiness. Moderate amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, floral, pine, caramel, light bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice flavor balance of bright hops with moderate malt; with a good bitterness/sweetness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good IPA. Nice complexity of hop flavors with well balance malt; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
