Mr Pineapple was conceived for SanTan Brewing Company’s annual Luau day here in Downtown Chandler. Fresh pineapple is added to our Wheat beer during fermentation to add a refreshing tropical flavor to an already sweet and fruity ale! The pineapple is balanced with a firm malt character and a slightly spiced hint of clove. Mr. Pineapple is highly carbonated to make it a quenching and refreshing ale for our warm Arizona climate.

12oz can pours a clear deep gold with some cloudy, white head. The aroma when cold was fruity and malty. Once it warmed it was just huge ripe pineapple, clove, candy sugar. Smells like a weak tripel. Flavor is the same, tons of fruit, ripe pineapple, guava candy, yeasty, some malt, some papaya, very juicy. Smooth, fruity finish. Ambitious and definitely not boring.

Tap at OHSO nano. Clear orange amber pour with an okay head. Nose is stickier candies. Taste is dried pineapple, pineapple upside down cake. Decent, some juicy acid in the finish. Verging on too sweet.

Aroma is surprisingly malt forward with lots of sweet malt. The beer is also very fruity with banana, bubblegum and obviously pineapple. There is a hint of citrus present as well. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a big, pillowy, white head that steadily recedes. Medium high lacing and small legs. Flavor has a lot of fruitiness but with a good background wheat note throughout. Initially you get a lot of pineapple but later you get the classic German wheat esters of banana and bubblegum. Also a hint of apple cider and pear. Finish has a moderate clove note to it but still has some wheat. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation. Faint astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall the beer is about what you would expect based on the description on the can. Fairly sweet, but not at all sticky. Lots of esters and pineapple fruitiness, but well balanced with the clove an wheat. Although not my preferred style of beer by any means, the beer is fairly enjoyable for a fruited wheat beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly sweet at the start but more tart and even more bitter by the finish. Clear pineapple presence but ubtle enough to create a generic tropical fruit impressions and not just pineapple. A solid wheat base. O: This beer works way better than expected. Good recommendation from McGaugh’s (Flagstaff, AZ) passed along to you.

Tap at the brewery. Rating #29. Hazy golden pour with a nice white head. Nice aroma, plenty of pineapple and wheat. Flavor is similar, more pineapple and a light aftertaste. Good stuff. (2757)

Had to try this from a home town brewery, despite its style. Bright copper penny pour with hints of tangerine and a nice ivory crown. Honey-baked oats, grain-topped wheat loaf, clove, tart pineapple, banana, and citrus. The fruitiness is a bit much. Not a melding of flavors. Meh.

Second time trying this and I have to admit I like it more this time. Must be the heat here in AZ! Pineapple flavor not as strong as I remember (which it good). A decent Wheat beer but I still don’t understand all the raves it is getting online.

12oz can pours with an opaque orange to copper body supporting a tall white head of foam. The aroma is straight up banana and cloves as well as apple and pear sweet fruity esters. The taste is similar where I get banana, cloves and vague sweet fruitiness. Meh, nothing really wrong here maybe me. Not diggin’ it. This might be a better experience trying to beat the heat this summer though.

Tap at brewpub and Can may 2013 Pours hazy dark orange hue with a fizzy white head with sparse lacing. looks like a hefe. Nose is pinneaple, lemon, grains, banana esters-quite nice! flavors show these aforementioned flavors however, there is quite a bit more grainy notes than expected. There is some clove along with the pineapple long into the finish. Body is crisp, slightly oily with spritzy carbonation. A great beer on a hot desert day!

12 fl oz / 355mL can into a Sam Adams glass. Served cold. Aroma: Delicious crisp pineapple! Mildly sweet aroma. Subtle spice package backing it up. Appearance: Slightly hazy dark yellow with a sudsy white head that lingers quite a bit. Taste: BAM PINEAPPLE! Goes really, really well with that spice package. Delicious delicious delicious. Palate: Crisp, refreshing. Pretty short finish. Light, but not watery. Definite character. Overall: The perfect beer for hot summers here in AZ. Cans make it pool-lake friendly, so that’s a definite plus. Try it with a slice of pineapple! Fantastic!
