Mr Pineapple was conceived for SanTan Brewing Company’s annual Luau day here in Downtown Chandler. Fresh pineapple is added to our Wheat beer during fermentation to add a refreshing tropical flavor to an already sweet and fruity ale! The pineapple is balanced with a firm malt character and a slightly spiced hint of clove. Mr. Pineapple is highly carbonated to make it a quenching and refreshing ale for our warm Arizona climate.

Can. It pours a clear, golden body and a dense, white head. The aroma is pretty strange, with tropical fruits, sweetish pale malts, pine cones and some pineapple. The flavor has a distinct pineapple touch, well, not just a touch actually. Pale malts sweetness, generic tropical fruits, pine cones and a little bitterness too. Medium body, quite effervescent and dry. Pineapple and bitterness in the finish. Rather boring this one, but at least sort of interesting. 130819

Can @ home. Golden pour with a finger of white foam. Really metallic aroma. Lots of copper/pennies, banana, and apple. Don’t really get any pineapple. Decent breadiness. Flavor is mostly sweet bread and banana. Some apple, caramel, and sugar. Again, no real pineapple. Was looking forward to this, kind of let down.

Draft. Poured an hazy dark yellow color with an large frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate tart citrus, clove and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium spice sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable beer.

A bright and cloudy yellowish pour. Nice sized white head. Aroma has really nice accents of pineapple, honey, wheat, and a hint of lemon zest. Flavor is quite refreshing, crisp, pineapple is light but detectable, floral notes and yeast.

Tap at OHSO nano. Clear orange amber pour with an okay head. Nose is stickier candies. Taste is dried pineapple, pineapple upside down cake. Decent, some juicy acid in the finish. Verging on too sweet.

Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat and pineapple. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

12oz can pours with an opaque orange to copper body supporting a tall white head of foam. The aroma is straight up banana and cloves as well as apple and pear sweet fruity esters. The taste is similar where I get banana, cloves and vague sweet fruitiness. Meh, nothing really wrong here maybe me. Not diggin’ it. This might be a better experience trying to beat the heat this summer though.

Can thanks to Josh! Pours a hazy gold with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma is full of sweet pineapple with a hint of citrus and an earthy wheat backbone. Flavor is quite sweet with pine apple and has a bit of sweet grain as well as an earthy touch in the finish.

Can. Bright orange pour with a large white head. Smells like a saison. More bland on the taste. Good for the style.

Can:   Straw colored, dirty, hazy, thin to moderate sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Wheaty nose, very faint clove, slight tropical fruitiness.   Spritzy on the tongue, a little grassy/mealy up front, almost moreso than wheaty.   Slightly dry and wheaty towards the back.   A slight touch of what seems like star fruit, despite it being pineapple?   Lets just say a bit tropical.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Not as wheaty as others, a bit more fruity however.   Backside is lingering mealiness, some straw/hay, with a dry tropical fruit tinge.   Tiz okay, but a little too carbonated and not as hefty as other wheats.   The tropical fruit aspect is interesting, but not sweet enough to make it worth it, in my opinion.
