COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mr Pineapple was conceived for SanTan Brewing Companyís annual Luau day here in Downtown Chandler. Fresh pineapple is added to our Wheat beer during fermentation to add a refreshing tropical flavor to an already sweet and fruity ale! The pineapple is balanced with a firm malt character and a slightly spiced hint of clove. Mr. Pineapple is highly carbonated to make it a quenching and refreshing ale for our warm Arizona climate.

Draft at Yard House and Ground Control. It seems to me that everyone who rates this from draft really likes it and the canned ratings are lower. Moral of the story: drink it on tap if you can find it. A nice base wheat ale that has buckets of pineapple in it. Real pineapple flavor and not like they just dumped a bunch of chemical flavoring into it. Very refreshing.

Tap at the brewery. Rating #29. Hazy golden pour with a nice white head. Nice aroma, plenty of pineapple and wheat. Flavor is similar, more pineapple and a light aftertaste. Good stuff. (2757)

On draught at SanTan. Pours a cloudy and murky yellow similar to widmerís hefeweizen. Aroma banana, pineapple, wheat. Taste is sweet with some pineapple and a touch of bitterness. Not getting a ton of pineapple, but it is there. Medium bodied and a bit dry. Not bad, but was hoping for a bigger pineapple presence.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2013 Re-rated out of the can, Hazy orange pour with some good pineapple and clove on the nose. Definitely more pineapple in the flavor than in prior years. It is still subtle, but tasty. A nice refreshing summer wheat beer.

Second time trying this and I have to admit I like it more this time. Must be the heat here in AZ! Pineapple flavor not as strong as I remember (which it good). A decent Wheat beer but I still donít understand all the raves it is getting online.

Aroma is surprisingly malt forward with lots of sweet malt. The beer is also very fruity with banana, bubblegum and obviously pineapple. There is a hint of citrus present as well. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a big, pillowy, white head that steadily recedes. Medium high lacing and small legs. Flavor has a lot of fruitiness but with a good background wheat note throughout. Initially you get a lot of pineapple but later you get the classic German wheat esters of banana and bubblegum. Also a hint of apple cider and pear. Finish has a moderate clove note to it but still has some wheat. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with high carbonation. Faint astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall the beer is about what you would expect based on the description on the can. Fairly sweet, but not at all sticky. Lots of esters and pineapple fruitiness, but well balanced with the clove an wheat. Although not my preferred style of beer by any means, the beer is fairly enjoyable for a fruited wheat beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium yellow. Small white head. Wheat, some spice, and pineapple juice. Delicious, thirst quenching, and great in the AZ sun. Sweet, a bit sticky, a bit creamy. Enjoyed one of their better offerings at the brew pub, as well as floating in a tube down the Salt River.

Reviewed from notes. From my AZ trip. The appearance had a hazy golden yellow color. For a bar pour, thereís a one finger white foamy head that dies within about a minute and some adequate super light clingy lacing that graces the sides of the glass nicely. The smell had the pineapple up front exactly as the name suggests with a decent amount of wheat opening up the aroma to make a Summery sort of sunshiney refreshing smell. The taste was sweet through the pineapple and wheat; refreshing sort of sticky pineapple wheat aftertaste, sweet watery yet refreshing sort of finish. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium in body, tries to be sessionable but the carbonation leads to a heavier quality for an American Pale Wheat. Overall, for the most part I would have this again, nothing wrong with it but thereís nothing over the top either, if anything the pineapple does taste and smell authentic, so San Tan did what they wanted to.

Pint on tap. I agree with description, donít overcomplicate it! Itís pineapple beer! Served with a wedge of pineapple, aroma is slightly yeasty, taste has strong fruit character, definitely "tropical" -- I wish they served it in the bahamas. Really not too bad, hits the mark definitely more than misses it. Well done.

Can to hefeweizen glass. Pours totally clear golden with a big ass head that disappears. Aroma is straight up wheat beer with tons of citrus and pineapple. Taste is the same with the pineapple being really well blended into the beer. No hops at all which is to be expected. Finish is smooth but highly carbonated. Overall I'm really glad this is in Texas now. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
