Bottle, at the brewery. Poured dark brown with a medium-dark, large tan head. Nose was fruity with hints of chocolate, taste was somewhat balanced with the fruit taking the lead. Not as boozy as expected, very drinkable with a nice long finish.

Bottle. Pours with a black body, purple highlights off white head. Roasty aromas that turn earthy and vegetal. Some mulberries, earthy, funky. Flavors are mildly sour, some accentuated tart notes fruit. Earthy, dry juicy. Medium tart. Roasty. Lively bubbles. Tart, fruity, vinous, mild tannin.

Bottle.... This beer rocks!… Dark brown pour with no head. The nose is a collage of brownies, fudge and boysenberries. Medium to full-bodied with pillow-soft carbonation. The flavor is certainly roasty but moreso sour, vinous and bursting-at-the-seams with an assortment of dark berries. Finishes crisp and tart. An interesting, world class effort provided by newcigarz!</B

Pours a black brown with a modest mocha head. Smell is tart, fruity, roast. Taste was intensely sour... Like sweet tarts sour. Sweeter than I expected. Very fruity. Not much chocolate or any other imperial stout characteristics, but still a solid beer.

Thanks to Kyle for sharing this good beer. A sour black beer. Yeast in the aroma as well as roasted malt. Flavor is moderately sour and I can taste the wine, but not the berries specifically.

750 ml bottle. A pitch black beer, with a large, frothy, creamy, lacing, mostly lasting brown head. The aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, chocolate), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of grapes, red wine, wood, raspberry/blackberry, vanilla, tobacco, hint of alcohol. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, pretty long finish with light to moderate bitterness, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Really never had anything like this. Maybe a bit of a mess, but damn, it works! The stout character is mainly noticeable in the nose and aftertaste. Really a good amount of fruits and wine barrel, with an almost tobaccoish finish. Despite its alcoholicity, the booze is well hidden and you always beg for another sip. I repeat, it may appear confusional to someone, but it’s great IMHO.

Bottle shared by Tooch4321...thanks Adam! - Pours purple-black with a thin light tan head. Nose is dry and roasty with a layer of sweetness and a little funky booze. Taste is sour dark ashy malt, a little vinegar, and a little berry. Thin and not well-carbonated. This one was a bit of a dud.

Bottle. Pours dark with no head. Aroma is sour fruit. Flavor is apparently boysenberries which I couldn’t positively identify. Really a nice beer, good thick palate for a sour.

750mL bottle, sent from futuraxz (thanks a Will), pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out red wine barrels, almost a chilli pepper like scent, boysenberries, and some funk. Flavour is very rich, with loads of dry, tart boysenberries, a slightly chilli pepper like hotness, and dry red wine notes. Very slow sipper, due to the hotness and dry, vinous, tart qualities. Not the most drinkable beer, but it’s quite elegant. Good stuff, just not that drinkable.
