From a cask at the brewery. Aroma has a moderately strong floral and herbal hop character that works well with the spicy phenolic notes from the yeast. Medium light fruitiness with pear, tropical fruit and red apple. Light graininess. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a small white head of moderate thickness that recedes fairly quickly. Moderate lacing and faint legs. Flavor is similar to the aroma with a light sweet graininess and a touch of cracker character. Moderate ester character with a lot of pear, light tropical fruit and citrus. Hop notes are lighter but they still add a nice spicy herbal quality that works well with the phenolic pepper notes from the yeast. Moderate bitterness. Light to medium light tartness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a very enjoyable beer, especially if you like the spicy, herbal hops. Nice yeast character that works well with the hops. Light malt character compliments.

A- pours a hazy light golden color with a bright white, minimal, clingy head. Good lacing. S- sensuous cloves, rhubarb, lemon zest and seltzer water all tingle the nose up front. Horse blanket, straw, musty New England farmhouse, coriander and biscuits all follow up in support. M- light to medium tacky body with a bitting, tart and slightly sweet light to medium body. Good carbonation. T- strong cloves, biscuit and resin malts up front. Citrus from guava, lemon, kiwi and pineapple. Some grapefruit. Mineral water and sweet cream butter as well. Ending is quick and dry with lingering citrus and butter.

On tap at the brewery. Pours slightly hazy gold with a white head. Tropical fruit aroma, banana and tangerine, peach. Flavor is bright fruit, fibrous unripe mango, banana, granola. A relatively sweet golden ale, not particularly saisonish but tasty.

Tap@SARA. POurs hazy golden, small white head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is peppery, grass, some unusual fruitiness. Flavor is the same, not really complex in any way, but a simple clean saison. Medium body, refreshing, but nothing special.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 A few half pours at the brewery throughout the weeks, plus an additional cask pour dry hopped with French strisselspalt hops. Normally aroma was moderately yeasty, with light Belgian spice phenol, bread, wheat and maybe cardamom. On cask there was the spice note but also a stronger herb character with mellow stone fruit (pear, apple) and also more sweet grain. Both pours were cloudy light orange with a big white head that lasted almost the entire glass. Non-cask taste has a light wheat quality with some apple, pepper, yeast and bread. Not really picking up on a rye kick, but there is definitely some tartness. On cask was very similar but more of a fruity presence with a slight mate tea character. Mellow grain flavor. Both had great carbonation and full body. The finish is lightly dry with a bit of bread after taste. Overall a really nice full bodied Saison with the typical yeast and some stone fruit notes. Good crushable beer.

Coriander, honey and musty oak on the nose. Bready as well. Minor sulphur taste, bread and biscuit. Very yeasty. Really great mouthfeel.
