3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours near black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some light coffee and chocolate notes, light hints of spices, some dough, and light bitterness. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average to smoother texture. A very solid porter.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap, pours black with thinner head. Rich and dark malts, coffee, molasses, and some light smoke. Thinner to medium in body. Good but I was loving vanilla joe this time around.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pretty black in the glass. Head is frothy almost with specks of white and brown. Creamy almost. Stale espresso beans, milk and Oreos. Very toasty throughout. Taste is very toasty. Mineral like mouthfeel. Coffee exploded in the middle and finishes long and smooth. Minor sweetness. Cocoa cookies. Very drinkable porter but very hard to drink a lot of it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Sante Adairius, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light dry chocolate, and some dusty roast. Flavour is pretty much the same, with dry chocolate and roasted malt. Smooth and drinkable, but nothing overly interesting. Solid porter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at City Beer, SF. Hazy dark brown with a light brown cap. Coffee comes forth in the aroma. Dark malty taste with more coffee, light smoke and a moderately dry finish. Well put together, but the beer as a whole doesn’t quite grab me.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler. Mahogany pour with an onyx core and chestnut edges is accompanied by a silky latte cap. Roasted grain, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and rye are evident in the aroma. Similar flavor with rich dark chocolate, brown sugar, Belgian yeast, honey-baked biscuit, caramel and spicy rye taking center stage. Medium mouthfeel...somewhat silky. Pretty good brew.
