Bottle shared thanks to JBPortland. Pours a deep golden color with three fingers of eggshell foam. Nose is rustic grain, some honey malts, pepper, smoked malts, some deli meat. Palate follows nose with less smoke character than the nose lends to the mix. Sourdough bread, wet grass, some light brett character but overall just a bit underdeveloped throughout. A rare miss for Sante.

750ml bottle pours semi clear golden straw with huge 3+ finger head. Nose is pretty sublte, not getting a ton of smoke, earthy toast grain and honey malts with some orange zest and apple. Touch of yeast spice sweetness, lots of carbonation, some drying grainy fruit, apple, subtle smoke, orange, brett hay on the finish.

Bottle at Ryan’s July 2014 tasting. Pours a golden body with light white lacing. Aroma is funky barn character, light fruit, light roast and some smoke. Mouthfeel is carbonated and tart with notes of smoked fruits, light tart character, sour acidity and an earthy smoky character. A bit strange for a sour saison to be so smoky - but not bad.

Hazy golden-straw colored body, thin white head, sparse lacing. Smoke, must, wet hay, some bretty stonefruits. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, a touch of acidity in the finish. Very interesting beer, I probably like smoke more than others so I enjoyed this.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with large frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong smoke, oak, brett, citrus. Medium mouthfeel with nice brett, smoke, clove and dry lingering finish.

Bottle shared at Ryan’s Juiceathon, Pours murky golden with small white head and lacing was tiny as well. Notes are smoke funk. I mean the smoke is subtle enough to get some complexity and fruit from the brett. Medium body. Interesting at the very least but smoke doesn’t belong in saisons. Well put together though.

Half pour at the brewery – reviewed from notes. Aroma is definitely smoky, with less funky notes than Fumare and more of a salty, meaty character. The smoke is not too overpowering as there is a hint of sweet grain and even a light fruit character (Pear? Apple?). The beer pours hazy gold with a small white ring of bubbles on the sides of the glass. Taste is up front smoked malt (surprise, surprise) that turns into an almost salty, meaty character. The smoke component is not as harsh as peat, but not quite sure how else to describe it besides light BBQ, or earthy. The back end isn’t as prominent in smoke and you can taste rustic grain, yeast, light fruit esters and some ash. Body is medium-light with medium carbonation and a semi-full, but tart finish. After taste is earth, grain, light funk, light tart pear and yeast. Overall a pretty crazy, but cool smoky and fruity beer. The tartness on the end really helps bring all the flavors together.

Hazy yellow orange in color... Aroma of smoked malts, citrus, Brett... Flavor is smokey but balanced by citrus, crisp mouthfeel, smoke on palate, notes of funk... Delicious ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
