[2/13/15] Draught at Sante Adairius Rustic Ales in Capitola. Hazy shiny yellow. Fruity esters aroma with yeast, some phenolic spiciness and a rye note. Dry flavor with faint sweetness, some graininess, fruity esters and spiciness that’s getting stronger in the finish. Medium-bodied.

Your standard saison. Nice crisp nose. Decent funk. Nothing special just a solid saison.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler from SARA. Pretty much everything I look for in a low-octane saison. Big time fresh grains on the nose. Taste introduces saison yeast notes and a touch of old-world style hops. Dry, fruity finish with light banana and a clean tartness on the finish. Mouthfeel is perfection. BRB, looking for a house in Capitola.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy blonde with a bubbly white head and a fruity aroma. There is a medium-bodied light malt flavor with oats dominant. The rye adds a substantive bitterness that creates palate balance and the yeast presence rounds out the complex twist to this saison. Nicely done.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ the source. Pale hazy gold. Aroma is grain, peppery yeast and hints of fruitiness. Very drying texture on the tongue but nice flavors of doughy yeast, tart fruit that has a strong lemon character. Light and refreshing and could be drank in large amounts. (with some water to help between rehydrate) I can see myself sitting in the California sun and absorbing this brew. Nice
