M - dry sweet and crisp finish

O - Hard to rate this one. It’s incredibly light and effervescent. Interesting beer!

Soft malts, great development, fruity fermenting yellow fruit. Plucky taste, nice farmy yeast, funky, mouth filling, great palate, drinking so well. The bit of residual sugar does a lot here. Surprise for me! (Bottle shared with Fx and Tommy)

Bottle (750 ml). Shared by Fux, thanks! Hazy yellow with a small mostly lasting white head and good lacing. Aroma is lemony with yeast, light tartness, some funk, nice winey presence and mineral notes. Taste is also lemony with a little more winey presence than in the aroma, nice tartness/funk, slight sweetness, some yeast and mineral notes. Light body. Medium/good carbonation. Crisp. Drinkable and quenching. Crisp. Nice lemony presence and great use of the barrel. Taste and quite complex considering the abv. Loved it!

Bottle at home, courtesy of Felipe. Big thanks for this one man! Pour is hazy golden with a big white head and great lacing. Big funk, urine, white wine, oak, yeasty, citrusy, earthy, lemon rind, and pears in the aroma. Taste is honey, flowers, lemon peel, grass, biscuit, urine, lightly spicy, herbal, tannic, and woody with a dry fruity finish. Medium body with crisp carbonation. Effervescent, yet fruity, crisp and highly complex. Great beer.

Bottle, thanks Chris and Meredith. Very light-colored brew, looks almost like pineapple juice. Virtually no head. Drinks with a very sweet fruity edge and an effervescent tingle. Pineapple, grape, and lemon predominate, with a bit of a yeasty swirl in the finish. Quite excellent. (#5399, 12/29/2013)

California rake #4000. Bottle @ Sante Adairius. Hazed orange pour with a white head. Aroma is tart apple cider, pineapple, and citrus. A nice grapefruit and peach character. Subtle yeast and sugar. Really nice balance of acidity and sweetness to the flavor. Tons of peach, sweet apple cider, pineapple, and grapefruit. A moderate tartness of lemon and citrus fruits. Really well done.

Bottle shared by Tooch4321...thanks Adam! - Pours light golden with a thin white ring of head. Nose is peachy, light pale malt, a touch of tartness, and a light yogurt base. Taste is light peachiness, yogurt, a touch of spice, light tartness, and a long vinegar/fruit finish. Body is fluffy and well-carbonated.

Bottle at SARA. Opaque yellow, excellent foam and lacing. Fruity aroma with funk, kind of archetypal. Flavor is lemon zest, lactic, oakiness from barrels, sweet and sour, somewhat dry palate. Excellent example of the style.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2013 A - pours hazy golden apricot with almost no head. S - this has such a lovely aroma. Fruity, funky, yeasty in all the right ways. Orange and lime zest and juice, subtle stone fruit, Fresh apricot with peel come to mind with nice mustiness and yeast. Suggestive of a nice aged gueze with a fruity twist M - bright and dry. A nice clean tart saison. Thicker sweet end. T - the fruitiness come first. Sweet lime and lemon, the stone fruit follow and add a tart and sweet with ever so slightly bitter notes. . Nice yeast and funk follow. Slight hint of sweet corn and cereal grains. Nice sweet dry ending. O - fruity and tart and so damn good. Another amazing brew from Sante! I love barrel aged saisons fierce 4.4

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2014 Bottle, 16e label – reviewed from notes. Aroma is a mix of ripe stone fruit (apricot skins, peach pith, pears) and must. Underneath the breath of fruit is very interesting barnyard funk that is a little more gueuze like (as Mike pointed out) than the norm in Sante’s house culture. Really nice array of acidic and lactic lemon/lime with some hay, grain and oak. Light sulfur comes out as yor swirl the beer around, but it comes right back to the nice fruit and funk mix. Pours an unfiltered hazy pale yellow with a gorgeous glow. Taste follows most of the aroma with a nice bouquet of tropical fruit, yogurt, musty wood, and funk with a tart finish. Creamy body, medium carbonation and semi full, lactic finish. The aroma separates this from Bernice, and isn’t as dry, however this and Cask 200 have very similar aroma and flavor profiles. Tart saisons are definitely Tim’s strong point and this is a great one off.
