Bottle... Pours tar-black with a mid-sized, creamy, mushroom-colored head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is an earthy, boozy mélange of musty leather, fallen wood, and either fruity liquor or fortified wine. Full-bodied with a raspy mouthfeel and vibrant carbonation. The flavor features clean acidity and mild roastiness. Finishes crisp and tart. Not sure this was intended to be a “wild” beer, but I like it. Bottle courtesy of 50belair!

Bottle shared thanks to JBPortland ! Pours a dull van dyke brown color with a finger of eggshell foam. Nose is a mix of heavy earthy roast, prune, pumpernickel and a touch of sweet rum. Palate follows with a strange combination of bitter walnuts, dark vinous fruit, cocoa nibs, some musky vanilla and lots of earthy roast.

Dark brown pour, medium brown head. Quite roasty up front, some barrel notes, but not a lot. Prunes, raisins, carbonation is quite bubbly. Not bad not super amazing.

Bottle from a buddy in Aptos. Dark brown-black. Nose is dark malts, oak, light coffee. Taste is light coffee, very much muted from the base beer I recall having on tap, some sour funk, wet wood, with a tart finish that thins out the palate. Had after some bbq, and it was a nice palate cleanser for sweeter barbecue sauce elements. Improved as it warmed, becoming more complex, with a hint of the rum if you look for it, and more coffee. Rum really barely discernible.

Bottle @ Steve_0’s palace, courtesy of Stephen. Thanks! Pours a deep brown appearance with a dark brown head. Some twanginess in the nose. A bit of dark fruit, chocolate, and roast as well. Somewhat boozy, kind of barrel forward. Carbonation is a bit heavy. Some burnt and fruity notes as well. Ehh.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Scott. Thanks man! Pour is deep brown, almost black with a frothy brown head and good lacing. Roasty, somewhat ashy, cocoa, woody, light rum, somewhat tangy, dark fruits, and spice in the aroma. Taste is black licorice, tangy, toasted malt, cocoa, light coffee, wood, and rum with a somewhat roasted tart finish. Meidum body with medium-to-soft carbonation. Not bad.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, big thanks to Scott! Dark brownish black pour with off white/tan head, aroma brought notes of slight roast, coffee, hints of slight vanilla, hints of rum in there, slightly grainy. Taste is a mix of roast, coffee, vanilla, slight rum into spice, earth, slight grain, hints of dark fruit, finishing fairly bitter, dry.

750mL. Clear deep cola brown. Medium tan foam. Excellent sour stout nose with cranberry, chocolate, dark cherry, bright lime. In taste, up front its all heavy carbonation, big effervescence from the Brett. Really nice sour stout flavor profile with acidic dark cherry, lactic acid, cranberry, chocolate, heavy mineral water. Refreshing, light bodied, sharp dark saison carbonation. No alcohol. No sugar. Nice sour stout.
