3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and crisp. Great condition again on the US bar! Thin malts, slightly sweet and with a light toffee streak. Spicy orange hop, thin but pretty fresh-spicy. Trace of something sweet before light dry finish. Spicy linger. Tasty but a tad thin.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Gravity at GBBF 2014. Poured a clear amber, with a tiny white head. Aroma of toffee, straw and floral hops. English hop flavours, with caramel and some grass. Finish was butterscotch, mellow hop bitterness and grain.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled @ GBBF day 3. Clear dark orange to amber color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, leaves, overripe dark fruits, lightly sweet. Average body and carbonation. Ok beer, but nothing interesting imo. One of so many.

My favorite of Oregon Garden ’13’ great example of the style, toffee and buttery sweet finish, follows roasted caramel body that’s perfectly light.

Cask gravity at the 2014 GBBF. Clear red amber colour with no head. Aroma is skunked hop, caramel and diacetyl. Flavour is stale caramel malts, mineral , English yeast. And lacklustre dill hop. Palate is medium light body with light carbonation. Terrible.

Lucky to find a local ESB, and it greeted me with a malty nose and frothy, creamy head. It’s got a smooth, silky texture and mouth-feel bringing sweet honey and toast flavors. Those nicely balance with the hoppyness of a traditional English Bitter. Then comes a subtle hint of ripe apples or pears. I’d like one right now with Chicken and cheesy potatoes.
