(Santorini Yellow Donkey) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a tulip, ABV 5%. Recommended to be kept refrigirated, this one spent a week in a box, travelling from Greece, let’s see. Slightly cloudy body, with lots of activity in it, a bright golden yellow beer. Tall and thick white head, with excellent retention. After it has slowly collapsed, light lacing is left behind. Nice aroma, some citrus notes, some perfume, pee, grains, light candy sugar and yeast. Taste shows no sign that it has gone bad, thanks God because I paid so much for shipping! Again grains and nice hoppy notes, more from the motueka hops than the cascade I’d say. Some light citrus and yeast. Mildly bitter finish with the bitterness having a good duration on the aftertaste. Medium body, carbonation seems a bit high at first but not on good levels eventually. Quite good and easy to drink.

Tap @ Mama Roux, Athens, Greece. Pours a hazy yellowy orange, with a good, thick white head. Aroma is lemon, some citrus. Taste is very lemony, some cereal, strong, long lemony finish. Goes well with their blend of Mexican and Middle-Eastern fusion cuisine. Fresh and good.

330 ml bottle. BB 26/07/2015. At the Barley Cargo, Athens, Greece. Cloudy golden colour with a small white head. Mild floral hops, mild bitterness, sweetness and some malty notes in the aroma. The flavour is mild floral hops, mild sweetness and some maltiness. Too easy. I believe there was potential in those hops. Bit of a disappointment. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Santorini beer tour continued. Heard about this craft brewery on the island and planned to try it at some point. Then on a wine tour, was surprised that they actually took us here as a break between wineries. First of three that we tried (Yellow, Red, Crazy). I’ll try to ignore the weak effort by the brewery to host us (basically we went in and they just started pouring - no history of the brewery, no brewing process discussion, no "this is why beer is better than wine" - really too bad, as it was a good opportunity to convert a bunch of winos! - strange, especially because there was nobody else in there except our small group tour - anyway - just my opinion on how they can improve their beer ambassadorship). The Yellow Donkey was by far the best of the three I tried, but I found all of the beers lacking, for my palate. This one was pretty middle-of-the-road and there was really nothing offensive. Basically if you want an ale break from the production lagers that dominate the country.
